I played a Rime save before release on the beta branch. Bear in mind I played it in Sandbox so I was able to really play around without worries. Also, I had Frozen Core (and I think Metal Rich and maybe Geodes) but not Volcanos. I wound up wishing I had them.
It was a ton of fun, it's like the complete reverse of the usual game. Obviously you have to worry about keeping things warm enough and almost nothing needed to be cooled. Food is tough to grow and there wasn't much natural food around the map. Water of all kinds was abundant but sometimes tough to keep liquid, I didn't have Irregular Oil so mine was down at the bottom of the map, right above that frozen core. I learned real quick that oil freezes around -40C. Liquid CO2 looks so much like Crude Oil I kept mopping it up and wondering why the little bottles would disappear, it wasn't oil it was CO2 and it was right on the edge of liquid/gas so the bottles were evaporating.
