Why won't my thimble reed grow?
It has the correct atmosphere, body temp, but for some reason it is not receiving the correct polluted water. Even though there is a pool of polluted water connected to it with pumps and a pipes.

What am I doing wrong?

I might be a bit of a thicko, but I can't figure out what the point of the segment of pipe between the reeds and the mealwood is. Why are you sending polluted water up there at all?

Anyway, remove that segment and possibly relay the pipes to the reed farms. I always lay pipe like that one tile below or above the farm tiles and make little dead ends for the pipe into each of them. Just an old habit, because laying it straight through the line of tiles like this used to be problematic. But it also makes it a little easier to control the laying of the pipe for me. Maybe you should try it too.

if you click on those hydroponic tiles, check if they have regular water stored in them

The temp of the water matters too, if its too hot or cold it can effect the plant.

I placed that pipe there to try and make the reeds grow. As they weren't growing from having the pipe end at where the reeds planters stopped. So I thought, maybe they needed flowing water. I'm just going to try what you suggested now and hope it works. I'll report back soon.

Check the storage of the hydro farms to make sure something else is not already in the farm. If you find regular water dump the storage.

They are full of polluted water.

The polluted water is currently at 27C.

NP. For the record that is ALOT of reed farms. You are about to plow through P-water resources.

Good point. I did not compare them to the other plants I have growing :/

My main rule for water in general is to never mix polluted water and clean water if at all avoidable. And this is a good example of why. Clean water getting stuck in the hydro tiles so you have to redo the entire thing. It's annoying and tends to lead to spills and a lot of extra hassle. And this sort of thing is one reason why I never lay hydro pipes straight through the line like this. Much easier to just deconstruct and rebuild the single segments inside the tiles than the entire pipe if you make a mistake or something goes wrong. Which it will typically.

Still, you get used to things after a while.
