Salt stuck in desalination machine

It's not popping out on its own, the dupes aren't collecting it, and there's no "empty inventory" button.Do you have to deconstruct to get it out?

I too am wondering about this. Where does the salt go?

I figured this out eventually. Eventually (I think it was at 1ton salt) the machine stops working and one of the dupes has to go clean it out. I figured a big block of salt would pop out of the machine at that point -- although I never saw it and it seemed like my salt stores weren't going up as fast as I expected, so idk, maybe that piece isn't working (I ran out of saltwater before I could confirm). Let me know if it seems to work for you.

Anyway, you can mount the desalination machines on walls or ceilings right now, but the dupes couldn't reach it to clean it unless it was on the floor.

Useful for auto-unloading though keeps it up and out of way, leaves options open.

Salt water doesn't produce very much salt. Its something like 5% of the mass you put in becomes salt, the rest clean water. Brine gives far more salt.

Also remember you gotta use the crusher to make salt useful.

Auto-sweeper isn't working on it. Not sure how to automate this.

Need to set high priority on the machine to get dupes to handle the machine on occasion. If in a rush, use yellow alert...Salt is carried by the dupe after they maintain it.

Another machine that need attention is the Oil well, even with over pressure threshold set.

Dupes weren't in question it was if possible to automate emptying into a storage. Looks like the auto sweeper only does really well on the cooking grill. Which works because the grill automatically drops on the ground. Otherwise the sweeper will move resources from storage to building but not the other way around.
