Question about Oil Reservoir
So is it possible for some oil reservoir to completely run out? this is my first time working with oil and i got a huge ton of plastic and power from it, but now it stop producing and i had to establish another oil well somewhere. If it's true that they will run out then i must prepare another oil well across the map

Edit: oh by the way, my water pump is fine and the buildup gas is regularly checked. The oil well just eating my power with 0 crude oil produced every cycle.

Solution: Reconstructing the oil well did the trick, it's kind of the same as petroleum generator when switching fuel.

I...don't think so? are you feeding it water?

How many cycles was it good for?

Hmm, forgot how many cycle it last, but i got a lot of it, and at some point i though it will last forever. I'm pretty sure my vent goes dormant 3 times during the entire production, i should check the cycles

One of your dupes needs to go down and vent the methane (reduce backpressure) or else they'll pause. They never run out as long as water's going in.

I have also seen the issue hedning described. I can't remember if there was an "empty storage" button on the machine, but if not you may have to deconstruct/reconstruct.

If it could ever run out, the game should have some kind of indicator for that - like saying so on the well.
But so far, any of those vent/geyser world object offer infinite supply.

That might be the problem, i got a tiny bit of salt water slipped through the water pipe, i deconstructed the pipes and build a new one, then it still not producing. Maybe i should create a new well? like petroleum generator wont work with petroleum after ethanol maybe?

Yeah backpressure is fine, i think that wrong element might be the case, the animation still going after i cleaned the pipe, might try reconstructing

Check inside the oil well.

Click on the well and look what it says under content - if it says something other than water, you will have to deconstruct and rebuild it.
