I don't know about a good source of unrefined metal late game. I was kinda planning to use steel for everything applicable in the long run, since iron falls from the sky and I can wranch stuff for egg shells, plus I can probably feed a sage hatch for coal or something...
It's refined Copper at second destination and I need raw ore for conveyors. Probably Steel is a way to go now.
Plus obviously you get things from rockets. I can see that you are using 2 cargo modules. Note that those asteroids probably don't replenish fast enough to have the rocket flying to one non-stop. If you keep doing this, eventually it will start bringing less than 2 tons of materials, so you will have to change the destination anyway.
To be honest, you shouldn't lack those resources in the long run. Change the speed to maximum, do a bit more of idling rather than actively playing and eventually you will get all you need.
Already collecting metals from meteor showers (from small territory though yet). Can't really play with maximum speed for me on big base it lags like hell. But ok, I will slowly get my ore. I was just thinking maybe some another or easier way.
i use it personally because it never made sense to me that some things cant be made with a better metal lol
You might have quite a lot of resources buried under the regolith there.
44 tons is alot though. I'd just go ahead and start using it, and keep the space missions going if you start to run out.
Also, you can replace ugly wires with conductive ones (you've probably alot of lead lying around). That can free up lots of unsmelted ore.
