You end up with a packet of hydrogen at the sensor but because the oxygen isn't flowing it sends it through the hydrogen line before the hydrogen can move on.
I used to use the same system because it's less power hungry and run into the same problem.
I tend to use a a mechanical filter set up now, where you use bridges from your electrolyser pipeline to connect to a hydrogen line running 1g of hydrogen through a loop
If the filter output is full, everything will go into unfiltered into the other pipe, just like it would if there was no filter at all.
If the filter-output is free but the other pipe is full, the game will actually send 2 packets through the filter. That is the downside of the shutoff-filter.
gas filter = -240 energy,but guaranted gas split,no gas flow headache,but energy problem.
You can build a room with isolated pumps,it almost guarantees gas splits,with a right pressure configuration.I made a filter just for a 200% splits,but u can try this scheme without one.
