Liquid Pipe Thermo sensor doesn't reset?
The wiki says if the pipe is empty it will send a red signal no matter the temperature setting. However this is clearly not happening in my case. When the pipe empties it continues a green signal. That the way it's supposed to work or something got changed/bugged?

The one on the left Metal Refinery, although the one on the right will eventually give the same results...

That left pipe is empty but thermo sensor still green

thermo sensorsand liquid sensors are bugged since alpha, klei never bothered to fix them. You just need to demolish them and rebuild them to fix the bug.

I did that and restart the game between demolishing and rebuilding. Still didn't work.

Then I figured an Element Sensor+NOT gate with an OR Gate for both the Element Sensor and Thermo might work. Looked like it should on paper but it eventually failed.

I give up for the day. Tomorrow I'll just put in a little endless loop with the Thermo on it and see how well it performs.

Seems like an easy enough bug to fix, all they have to do is code the sensor to reset when the pipe is empty. Since Alpha eh? Doesn't look hopeful.

Sensors were changed at launch to no longer detect an empty pipe. They will keep sending the last signal they sent before. Possible a new sensor will start out with green on default.

The number you see there is only a remnant of the past. The sensor does not actually read that number, hence changing settings doesn't do anything.

Another thing: The metal refinery is designed to allow you to refine metals in one place, while you can bother with the massive heat output at another one.
Your setup with radiant pipes however dumps the heat right there. And I don't see a cooling system either. So how do you intend on using them?

If you can build your system in such a way so that the pipe directly under the sensor always has a packet of liquid then you wont have a problem.

?? this is not a bug

The sensor will default to the last position when the pipe is empty (same goes for gas pipes)

So if the temp was X and the pipe gets empty the sensor will only change state after something pass by it.

In some builds we use this "bug" and need the sensor to behave like that.

1 - You just build generic thermo sensor in a liquid dump.240 energy for pump.

2 - The idea is to safely cut a tiny part of a liquid flow, measure temperature and do ur things. When detector on a left goes red (empty) - captured liquid is released.
3 - same as above, but for infinite loops or hard flow. You make 2nd detector for a flow, right after liquid blocker. It releases stoped liquid after X time delay.Tune left buffer and right filter for time period : every X seconds.10 energy.
