Overheating Issues
I started using an area with a cool steam geyser as my auxiliary water source, but my pump always overheats and breaks due to the increased temperature from using it in the already hot water. Any tips on how to keep large bodies of water cold? I know there's a machine to heat large bodies, and maybe I'm just missing something but it's my next roadblock in maintaining homeostasis.
So any advice on that would be greatly appreciated, but if you feel like just throwing in some general advice, please do so; my strategy is to learn through many... many... many failures...
Additionally, despite my greatest efforts to keep germs out of my water source, they get in (via the pipes on my filter?) so I'd love some problem shooting on that.
Morale: other than food and rooms, as well as giving them jobs they like, how do you improve it?
Finally, what is, in your opinion, the best way to produce oxygen?

make the pump out of gold amalgam to add 50C to its overheat limit or steel for 200C, cool vents rarely get above 125C so gold should do fine. creating some sort of heat exchanging system so you can run radiant gas or liquid pipes with chilled contents inside the containment room of the steam vent to force condensation, the water may still be fairly hot so you may need to cool it a little more somehow.
Hot water can still be used for lavatories, sinks, showers, or sent straight to an electrolyzer for hydrogen & oxygen production since electrolyzers output the gas at 70C minimum. for any of the above insulated pipes are your friend, they'll keep the heat from the water inside themselves so your base doesn't become a duplicant cooker.

As for germs in the water/pipes, might need a screenshot of the pipeworks to see what's up.

You don't actually need to cool all the water in reservoir with cool steam vent, just let it be for now and instead cool the oxygen you send into your base. There are different ways to do it, the easiest one is to send it through pipes (just normal pipes) in ice biome. Sure, the biome will melt eventually but it would be a lot of cycles later. Second easy way is Anti Entropy Thermo-Nullifier, it consumes hydrogen to cool down gas around, like very big wheezewort. You can find a lot of examples in guides section

Morale:
1. do not take duplicants with favorite skills that are kind of weak (like cooking, you need just one job level to cook and taking it as favorite will save you only one morale point)
2. always try to reroll for dupes with synergy in their favorite skills. Like, Research+Supplying+Suit wearing for a cheap astronaut. Supplying+Dig for miner who can later take one level of Suit Wearing.
2. do not take job levels just to speed up some project, think what these dupes will do after this project is over and those skills aren't needed anymore. Like - don't give max miner skill to all your dupes just for digging a diamond vein.
3. make all the rooms you can. Great hall is especially easy to build and gives a lot of morale
