Corner Water Lock
Hello. I was making a water air lock when I noticed that I could sustain a vacuum with only one tile of water (avoiding the sopping wet). However, they appear to be inconsistent. Do duplicants sometimes destroy water then they walk in it?

This should be a picture of a corner waterlock. If you can see it, the high density carbon dioxide can not pass because of the corner water tile (39.4 g), allowing the lower chamber to be pure chlorine. I was hoping to use this to allow for a chlorine clean room in my base, but it appears unstable. If you build it in the other direction (right to left) it appears to just let air in, but if you build it left to right, the water sometimes vanishes.

If the kinks could be worked out, it could allow for a clean storage room without the duplicants getting the sopping wet debuff.

I think the issue revolves around the duplicants exhaling displacing or replacing the water, but I don't know how to test it. Any ideas?

When Dupes walk through water, they do reduce it's quantity slightly. It's small, but frequent and repeated crossing will have a noticable effect.

Dupes entering a tile of water applies a downwards pressure. When the water has neighboring tiles the water will, due to pressure, move into those side tiles. If it cannot it will compress the water (dont get into physics on this its just the game) possibly causing tile damage.

Actually, I found the problem was things that emit gas, which can include a breathing duplicant, slime, or bleach stone. I filled the space 1 square above it with CO2 and rearranged things so slime and bleach stone and other things don't pass through it and it appears to be stable as long as it goes down and to the right. Since I made these modifications, I have not had one break.
