What to do with polluted water?

I can't put it in a storage compactor to get rid of it.

I'd like to perhaps pour it over dirt to produce polluted dirt of compost and fertilizer production, but the bottle emptier building thingy can't be set to only accept polluted water...

What are people doing with it?

Yes it can, you need to click the little arrow to see the options for clean/polluted water

Generally I build an enclosed room, like a large pit or something to dump the polluted water, then airlock off the room

For the germ-ridden stuff from wash basins, I use a bottle emptier (set for polluted water) that's aimed (use 'O' hotkey to turn the emptier when building it) into a dug-out pit off to the side of my base. I call this my 'septic tank'.

For sinks, lavatories and showers, I use a liquid pipe going from their outputs down to a liquid vent to dump it into the 'septic tank' along with what comes from my bottle emptier.

For the non-germ ridden polluted water that comes from natural gas generators, as well as the stuff in general I find around the map, I just pipe it through a water sieve and send the now-clean water into my main reservoirs. As long as polluted water has no germs in it, it's safe to sieve/distill it into clean water and use it. But NEVER do this for water with germs that comes from your bathrooms. For very obvious reasons.

If, at some point, I find myself wanting to use the toilet germ-ridden septic tank water, I boil the everloving s*** out of it with Liquid Tepidizers.

Pipe it into thimble reed hydroponics or filter it.
5 reeds completely eat all of the bathroom water of 2 showers, 2 sinks and 2 lavatories, no germs or assy air involved.

Then make some dapper suits for everyone.

To get water back, you can either directly use a steam geysir or natural gas geysir since the polluted water from gas generators has no germs.

That bottle emptier clearly has a spigot pointing downwards, and that fertilizer machine clearly has a funnel pointing upwards.

There is no connection for any pipes in that bottle emptier that I can see... this is unnecessarily complex. Is there a Youtube video on this?

Pumps go into fluids, you'll see where a pipe goes in the plumbing overlay just like power cable connectors.

Dig a hole and put a pump at the bottom with a pipe running up to the fertilizer machine, and a wire that connects to your power supply. Then move the bottle emptier over the hole and drain the polluted water into it. The pump will suck up the water into the fertilizer machine.

They should change the graphics of that fertilizer machine to remove the clearly visible but non-functioning funnel on top, then. It's very confusing.

That thing also emits natural gas once it runs.
Just saying. In case you don't want that in your base.

just make a water filter first you need make the water about 125 degrees wait for the germs to die and run it threw a water cleaner

This pisses me off. I spend a good 3-4 hours building up to get Showers and Lavetories only to find that poluted water is not germ water....... My WHOLE system is now germ water....

Sorry Devs but we need a way to get rid of germ water way earlier.... I have to scrap this whole save now...
