Duplicants don't want to put food in the fridge
They seem to just leave food on the ground. I think they should place it in the fridge automatically without having to go to too much effort.

Have you set priority for the fridge? I tend to put it at between 7-9 to guarantee duplicants delivering food to the fridge as soon as it's harvested

Make sure you have selected what food types can be stored there by clicking on the fridge and tag them in the menu.

Ahhhh! I have the same problem, but never knew there was a priority on the fridges.

The priority system must actually work now. Problem is I have to raise the priority on everything or nothing gets done.

Its a priority system. Dupes will do the priority 9 task first, then the 8.. etc If you put everything on priority 9... then its pointless

the best thing for the priority system is to not overuse it. Digging, delivering, building all every day tasks should be on default so that your higher priorities mean something. Try and make sure priority tasks are 6-7 so that your 8-9 tasks can be reserved for emergencies or build critical events.

if everything is 9 then it's the same as everything being 1 :)
Even with everything on priority 5 and fridge on 9 and picking up the meat on the floor on 9, having the fridge connected to the power, having selected everything in the fridge to be stored, duplicants still do not want to put this in the fridge, I'm getting crazy

Put a dupe priority for storage at very high.
your dupes are probably too busy and/or you have no one set to store/tidy.

Why the necropost? This is from 2017.

Seems applicable. Would you rather someone repost a topic?

At this point? Yes it would've been fine to post a new one since this one was 7 and a half years old. A valve moderator will likely find this one and lock it soon.

This reflects the same underlying issue throughout all of the game mechanics imo. Lack of a certain "magnetism" or "Gravity" to form stable "work clusters". ie while one dupe is going through harvesting, another should cluster with it to do store/tidy. And I mean like really stick with it. Don't have 2 seconds of down time with nothing to store and then say oops, guess my todo list now has something else on top, I have to run all the way over to the other side of the base. There should be a magnetism, a certain gravity, which when stuck together in a task is weighted against breaking. Not impossible to break, but weighted against. Perhaps the duplicant can be idle for such and such % of the time.
