How to get crude oil early game?
I'm on cycle 100 on my colony and we haven't struck oil yet because I have mostly been too busy to dig down and also I limit my exosuits to 4 because I don't want to spend excess oxygen. How can I get crude oil in the early game? It is a challenge for me.

You can't. You have to keep digging until you find crude oil somewhere else on the map.

Just dig down if you want oil. But expect massive issues to occur if you didn't prepare beforehand.

Usually you just need to dig a screen worth if tiles down and you will see some oil. But it will be hot, and neds a lot of energy and other stuff to do anything with it, so no reason until you are ready for it.

So what do you guys do for your first actions trying to access world oil supplies (natural oil instead of geyser oil)? What preperations/investment would you do to prepare to cool and store the oil. Clearly most starting oil is to hot to pump even with gold.

If you got " lucky" and found oil biome with ~180-200C oil... IMO the simpliest solution is to dump a bunch of polluted water into it. It will boil/purify water and cool down oil to usable temperature.
Just be sure to prepare properly (insulation, gas permiable tiles to hold water etc) because it will release a lot of very hot steam, which can cause a lot of trouble.
