If you want to save your current run, then do the same as first step, to limit the intoduction of new germs to the sytem. Then disinfect everything infected (over a few thousand germs) and compost the most infected food and seeds (this may couse food shortage).
If some of the dupes have lts of internal germs, you might need to micro them to avoid getting more germ and infecting the clean areas.
Didn't matter I had the stone in the water. Germs still died WAY to slow. Had to pump the germed cleaned water into my main clean water tank. The dups used this water to make food and now my food has food poisoning. I saw this for weeks in game. There is just no good way I can figure to kill germs in water. Not unless I heat my clean water to over 75 C.
50 million dollar question. How the hell does the Water Purifier NOT kill the germs in the water?! How is there not at least some water based germ killing solution other then major changes to water tempture.
Option two: heat or cool the water, even better, if you can boil it than the cooling water will be clean without any watse of sand.
Optiom three: just as before, earch for the watr geyser and use it for clean watersource, have to deal with heat, and with slimelung if in the slime biome, but at least no foodgerms.
The Chlorine meta is by far the best and most efficient method at the moment. You normally need 2 or 3 tanks and some janky automation to maximize CL exposure.
But since I'm not a meta slave... Here are some weird ways to do it.
Personally, I kill food poisoning germs with pressure.
Just hook the bathrooms to 1 of 2 airlock door storage spaces and alternate between the two with simple on off switches. Nothing janky, super simple. 20k pressure is a good target. If you're techy you can go full hands off. They're pretty easy to make, just Youtube it.
Or
Get technical and hook it into your Steam Turbine setup.
Benefits: It kills the germs and also gives you late game dirt. (set up a conveyor system out of steel and you're set)
Difficulty: High.
- You want to automate the heat and flow of the liquid so you don't drown or over pressurize the system.
- You also will need to figure a way of cooling the +125C water for consumption
Or
You can get spicy and make a tiered waterfall using airflow tiles similar to old sour gas boilers.
- Use airflow tiles to set up a 4 to 5 tier waterfall system and you should be set. Set it up like a checker board and have it cascade from tile to tile.
- Fill the room full of CL. 2 kg or greater.
- Sieve the water before sending it in.
Automation needed? None.
Is it overkill? Yes
Does it look cool? Yes.
Is it realistic for the tiny amount of germy water your dupes make? No.
Does it look cool? Yes.
If they're throwing up, it's not from the food poisoning. Food poisoning only causes them to use the bathrooms more often and take a slight debuf in efficiency. They're likely stressed out from over-leveling our outside events like popped eardrums.
Certain dupes have different debufs when they stress. Puking and crying are a couple of them.
I'm working on a design for the difficulty mods where there's almost no water. Collect that positive water source by purposefully stressing certain dupes out. XD
