Stress Vomitting
my whole game has been my duplicants vomiting, emitting contaminated oxygen, then mopping it. every 10 seconds someone vomits. I made all of the stress relievers but its not working.

Did you assign a dupe with high stress to a massage table and put the massage table on prio 9?
They should go and lay down in it and get their stress down to 0%. After they have 0% stress they are no longer assigned to that massage table, so you can assign someone else to that table.

I've had the same problem. I had one dupe with extremely high stress, set the massage table to pri 9, and she was on it constantly, pretty much only got off of it to eat, sleep, and VOMIT immediately after she had gotten off the table. The description says it "rapidly reduces stress" but it did not get anyone down to zero, the stress only got higher and higher. It reached a point where they couldn't make food because other dupes would break my batteries and generators, and there was so much puke they could not clean it up.

I think you have to micro manage this atm. I start sending dupes to massage as soon as I see it reach 10%. It would be nice if they just went of their own accord when the reach a chosen level of stress.

I've just given up on dealing with the stress plus the vomit counts as water so the Duplicants can use it or other things, then I just use mesh tiles to get the vomit into a pool then pump it out and purify it!

Yeah, I copied someone's Vomit Tower. Let em stress out and puke. Pools on the lowest level and pump it out for water.

The other thing to do about stress is to put paintings all around the spots that the dupes will be spending much of their time for example the manual generator, the massage table, the eating area and the beds. You should have the decoration values in thoes spots at over 100. Wires, pipes, ladders floor tiles and storage bins are all negative modifiers, so if you seperate the eating, sleeping and masauging areas away from such areas, it will be easier to get the decoration value high.

I just reassigned everyone to a new job at a lesser stress level. that stopped the chain reaction. still fighting it though

Think of the stress as the sign that things need to be fixed in your colony.

Deal with the root causes of the stress to stop it long term. If they are not obvious, go to the Dupes' bios and look to see what is causing it.

Also keep in mind that once the Dupes hit their stress reaction the stress then drops down (to rise again if the root causes are still there).

Just dealing with the symptoms of stress won't help if the combined stress from all sources is so high that it exceeds your stress relief efforts.

If you have to, lock up your Dupes in "jail" as you deal with causes of the stress.

I have a dup that vomits no matter the stress level if it encounters a single spot of polluted air. and I have 2 others that vomit seeing the first one's vomit if they have stress higher than 5... They also seem to vomit at the sight of bottled vomit, I may be wrong.

Basically I ended up un-assigning all the dup's jobs, making them jobless, and I added massage tables all over the place... spread all over like you would a deodorizer... not just in the massage room. all set to "break starts" at 5 and "end" at 0.

That way, the moment someone feels bad, they can hit the closest chair without hiding anything worst trying to get to the far off massage room...

and I increased the off time by 2 ticks giving them 2 extra stress relief...

I also had to make sure, using the "move to" tool to send the dups as far away from the constant vomitor as possible... and I had to make sure the only non vomitor I have do the cleanup of both vomit liquid and vomit bottles.

it took 3 cycles to flatten out the stress with.

once that was done I re-assigned the jobs, but I did not re-assign them to the same job, so all my experts are gone, demoted to another job entirely.

I'm taking note that it is best, when a job training is done, to not start training on the next promoting job, but basically train them on something else of lesser stress, like from minor to farmer... A Space Cadet in a based that basically is in the stone age is not ideal...

Take a good look at the speech bubble, see if anyone is complaining about their job to somebody else, change their job if you see a "my job hat + sad/angry face" bubble... and make sure the schedules are set up so they have a chance to met and talk with others before bed time so you can watch the speech bubbles then. That was my problem mostly....

I had setup many schedules so they don't all flood the toilet at the same time and wee themselves because one of the stalls needs emptying. but basically that meant there was not enough people interacting at the end of the day... and I think they need that if the day was especially bad...

I might have kicked this dead horse of a topic but you resurrected it :)
BTW your discussion is the one google likes to show people when they ask about vomitting... so... The unsub from discussion button is more useful don't you think :)
