i found how to purify water without sand
first of all, i dont' know how to upload scr shoot to this discussion fourm. pls anyone tell me how to do that, then i will upload my scrshoot.

the method is using high temperature magma, which you found at bottom of the world.

after the dirty water raised to 120C, it will transfer to STEAM, build a tunnel for steam cools down, it trans to WATER.

entire process only using high temperature, so it means the bottom world could save your life much longer.

might be enough to dig the whole world.

btw, i hired few dupe with talent to generate dirty water (underpressure)

the system will eventually run out with high temperature material, but it is more self sustained than the SAND system right now.

hope this help.

screenshots: usually you have to press f12 ingame to make a screenshot (but i dont know wether this works in alpha or not). when you close the game, you get asked wether you want to save these screenshots or not - they get saved on steam (look at your profile), there you get the links - copy paste.

cool, but how did you get the game?

Awesome discovery.
Let's science the magma out of this

Press F12 while ingame on steam.
Afterward, upload it to cloud using steam (View -> Screenshot), the upload button are on the left bottom corner of the screenshot window.

After you done upload it, hit view online online library.
There will be a link over there to post it here on forum.
If you can't find the link, just right click save link url or hit edit caption/description button to view more option.

i have another way to solve the sand problem ,the contaminated water can intake&output by Air Deodorizer&Air Scrubber&Electrolyzer at the same time.the machines work fine .you know the the contaminated water is water too:steammocking:

I've just realized that my sand is running out. Had air scrubbers all over the place. They and my water purifiers stopped working due to no sand.

Only a little left of sand to mine. :steamfacepalm:

Electrolyzer work with contaminated water?!?!

I was planning on only getting people who stress vomit and working them to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ edge to fill up our water reserves to be filtered into water then turned into oxygen... But some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ flooded everything before we were ready and now i need to restart ;-;

Electrolyzer work with contaminated water?!?!

No, that is not true. I've tried feeding the air scrubber with contaminated water. It does not work.

Air deoderizer does not use water, so no. That guy is off his bonkers.

The electrolyzer will also refuse to work on anything but water. However, it will bottle contaminated water! This is highly useful if you want to compactify the contaminated water into a 2x2 square....It maybe turn out to be a careless code mistake.

I've been trying to turn my contaminated water into steam using the heat of the buildings, like the hydrogen generator or the batteries. The contaminated water will accumulate to a certain amount then they will flood the buildings causing them to stop working....I've yet gotten any steam from this method.

Has anyone gotten a build that will reliably turn contanminated water into steam using heat from buildings?

i had such a build by accident .. was wondering where the water came from but then i saw it was my guys vomiiting at the coal generator witch is was 500°C hot :D

Build a room with double thick insulated walls (all 4 sides) build a smaller room inside it with gas permeable tiles

fill the space between the two rooms with thermo regulators, and pump the cold air out to wherever you need it (probably a farm, plants get hot)

may need an electrolyzer to generate extra gas to pump.. or a coal generator

And where do you put the liquid to absorb the heat? Do you have a picture of this setup?
