Are gas vents strictly one way?

If I connect a gas pipe between two gas vents without any gas pumps, will it allow gas to flow freely between two otherwise sealed rooms?

If not, is there any other way to do that?

vents do not work unless there is a pump.

Make two separate pump/vent systems in both ways? Tho it's not really efficient and it'll just move air in circles wasting your power.
Maybe dig 1-2 block vent tunnel somewhere if you want tho, it'll do that you wanted.

A good way to create air flow is with the pressure valve. Set the pressure valve to lets say 200 units, and watch it create a stream of air.

Unfortunately, the air valves are currently bugged, so the unused air will simply dissapear. So eventually you will drain your whole colony of whatever gas you are pushing through a reduced air pressure valve.

Not a bad idea to get rid of carbon dioxide, or chlorine, if that's what you want.

Yes. A gas can travel all four directions through gas permeable and mesh tiles. Liquids can also travel in all four directions throgh mesh tiles.
