Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Anniversary Edition

Can't skip intro movie?
This may seem trivial, but is there a way to skip the horrible intro movie? It is REALLY f-ing annoying having to watch that every time you start the game.

no, after first game-start you can skip , but at first start you have to watch it all or delete the moviefiles ...

As I remember it forces you to watch it the first time only, then it enables the escape key to skip it after the first time

Find Local.ini in your DoW folder in Common folder, add the following command line: force_watch_movies=1 You should be able to skip intro by pressing esc key

I had the same trouble as you, even though i had played the game 10 times this week it wouldn't let me skip the intro, the fastest easiest hasslefree i found and which worked for me was.

Open up steam browser, go to library.
Right click the game, properties, general.
Click on set launch options and add "-nomovies" without the quotations

Easy to do, skips past all the intros including the THQ one and such, goes straight to loading screen then menu, no fiddling around in the command lines and such.

In my case, I can skip the intro with the Esc key. I don't know because I can do it!

I know this is a bit of an old post, but this was exactly what I wanted to do and it worked. No pressing escape required.

The volume levels on the sega intro and the dawn of war intro were just so loud, and the in-game volume settings don't seem to apply. So first after blowing your eardrums out a few times you learn to hover your hand over the escape key, so that you only get a half second of the ear breaking sega screech intro, and then a half second of the ear exploding dawn of war explosion. That wasn't a good enough solution, I wanted those movies to never show for even a half second. This solution worked perfectly.
