Dawn of war crashes when i start it

Ive been wanting to play this game for a while and it was on sale so i bought it but when i load the game up it crashes immedietly

Same basics for all XP games now. Browse to the folder, right click the dow exe file, select properties, tick disabled fullscreen optimization, set to run in XP svc pack 2 compatibility, lower, click DPI, set it to application.

If you have NVIDIA, get rid of Geforce Experience.

Turn off all scaling in windows, video control panel and monitor.

Make sure resolution is set to 1920x1080 for your desktop (It will go higher, but your wont be able to read anything).

I found out what it was it was because windows 10 media player doesnt work with the cutscenes so i ran it without the cutscenes and the game worked

If you want the cutscenes back, download and install the normal codec package from Klite Codec and install setting it up to make media player classic, windows 98 original media player, as default player. No more older game video issues.

I still cant get it to work after those fixes, and I can not for the love of god find any other solution. I regretfully have windows 11 and might pirate windows xp just to play this for a few hours.

Open up steam browser, go to library.
Right click the game, properties, general.
Click on set launch options and add "-nomovies" without the quotations

Easy to do, skips past all the intros including the THQ one and such, goes straight to loading screen then menu, no fiddling around in the command lines and such.
