Really slow autosave
Autosaving is taking forever. On vanilla it takes about a minute but I'm playing WA at the moment and autosaves are taking nearly two minutes! It's really f'n annoying!! Is anyone else having this problem or a fix for me?
Laptop is only 18 months old btw so there shouldn't be any problem there.
Cheers for any help, it's such a good game but this is really starting to ruin the fun for me.

Did this happen when you started mission 1 on ? I just bought the GOTY edition in the sale and the initial autosave on both the base game and winter assault seems to freeze the whole thing. To get back to desktop I have to use the power button! Maybe I'm just not waiting long enough though

I haven't actually played it since so not too sure but from what I can remember the autosaves were just really long, and got longer with each mission. Don't think the game ever froze on me though. It did seem like a freeze up the first time and I think I remember doing the same thing (turning it off with the power button) but then the next time I just waited to see if it would unfreeze itself. Turns out it just takes a really long time for the save to go through.

I've had this issue multiple times. The problem isn't that the game just takes too long to save because Task Manager shows the program as "Not Responding". So far the only solution I have is to restart your computer. Once you have Steam and Dawn of War up and running again it should be fine for at least several hours.

Did you tried Dgvoodoo?
Try this fix :
-go to : http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2.html
-download the last version
-open the archive and extract the 3 files MS/x86/D3D9.dll , dgvoodoo.conf, dgvoodoocpl.exe to your game directory(use the passkey from the website )

-run dgvoodoocpl.exe
go to directx tab
Set the VRAM you want
Uncheck "dgvoodoo Watermark"
click apply

Additionnaly set texturing to Anisotropy X16 and antialiasing to x8, If you have a powerful enough computer

IMPORTANT :D3D9.dll must be put DIRECTLY in game directory otherwise it won't work

-run your app
