Tips for Judgement
Love the game but I've hit kind of a roadblock in terms of the judgement challenge. Similar to the final challenge of the first game, I just can't really handle how every battle has way too many bad guys. I'm just not sure if there's some kind of strategy I'm missing or if I just need to quote unquote get good. Just not having fun in either case.

So I'm looking for tips. Card sets, whether or not to take the goblin up on his offer or try to brute force my way through to keep my good items, things like that.

Also, I don't know if it's supposed to be this way or not but all the dealer pendulum challenges are double speed and that's kind of annoying.

Thanks for a cool game defiant!

You either have loads of equipment and take all the goblin's routes or keep your BIS equipment and fight trough it normally.

What I did:
The dealer gives you one of each item.
So I picked exactly one armor, one weapon, some shields, one helm, all artifacts, and two rings.

That way I had exactly all the itens which help on the gambits.
Armor for the shuffle less
Helm for the detect failure
Ring for Nudge wheel (which basically guaranteed one monster going out)
Ring of +2 on dices - helped on dice rolls

I also picked Ice fang Sword (which helped a ton by freezing everyone and healing me in the proccess)

and the pendulum challenges I just rolled with it, drawing one pain card most of the time isnt such a hassle, and I made trough 3 combats wihtout drawing a single pain card (hitting all the right ones in the gambits)

I took the goblin up on the offer. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the goblin only looks at your equiped items. So, if you put on the Adventurer's Garb, the Neglected Sword, and the Wooden Shield, he might take an artifact, helm, or ring. I don't know for sure if that is how it works or if I got lucky, but the goblin never took anything that I liked.

Screw the goblin. The game doesn't tell you at first, but if you ignore him, you can remove 3 enemy cards of your choosing if you nail the gambits, which aren't too hard. At least that's how it works if you have platinum companions. At that point, the combat isn't too bad.

In combat you can be targeted by 2 guys(the one you are smacking and one other) and any number of ranged enemies. So if you see somebody swing, you should stop hitting attack to counter or evade or use the weapon ability. If you dont like the pendulum you should have the captian as your comrade, then you will get a dice roll, card shuffle and the wheel for the removal of mobs. The captians ability also helps removing monsters fast, when you finish them, after the combo ends.

It's not that I don't like the pendulum, it's just the sudden forced double swing speed that throws me off.

But some great advice here, thank you.

Did better after implementing these tips. Still didn't quite make it (i hate thieves so much), but made it much farther.

I have to admit, i like the thieves from all monster types the least aswell. They are much faster then every other type and i lose the most life in the fights with them. When i get a chance to switch my companion beforehand i use the northerner for them, cause if they are stunned i can usually kill 2-3 of them and therefore reduce the damage taken. And even if the game tells you, daggers are best for them, i mostly go for peeler or other 2-hand weapons. They have the lowest threshold for the weaponability and you get the most out of each punch. The Lion potion should also help, if things go down, or the meteor, which is quite awesome. Sadly the mission is quite long, so i hope, you dont give up too fast and get it done sooner than later, good luck!

when I went for the gold I set up with Dazziling Blade, Brigands Sheild, Bounty Hunters Helmet, Armor of Gluttony, Lion Potion artifiact and the rest of the equipment was just rings so I was gaurnteed this set. After every combat you get a gold gain a food and a health gain which once armor of gluttony hits 40 defense (due to large amounts of food) makes you neigh unstoppable (and if worse comes to worse you have 150 hp of healing in lion potion) but in doodads to recharge lion potion and you're set
Edit: also put in temple preist and take gold zealot to get an additional +15 life after every combat!

That... is kinda brilliant actually. Worth trying!

Just an update: thanks to you all I managed to finish Judgement! Thanks again!

use lionheart
you'd have to be a moron to lose a fight when you have +150 extra hp.

little tip, since ive seen devs often read these. In the first area of judgement i opted for combat vs the corrupted and the gatehouse is between a line of (unpassable) towers. Won the fight but the two empire patrols moved in front and behind me and since you can't opt to fight them N S E and W was blocked and i had to reset :-/

Hi! You should be able to fight when you are trapped in those situations (as of 1.0.9, I think?). If it happens again, Make a new thread with a a screenshot, your game log from the play session where it happened and a copy of your player profile saved in that state, and we'll get it added to the issue tracker!
