Fabled Beast Encounter - What are the outcomes?

I need to know what you get for slaying it, and what you get for sparing it.

Anyone know?

Slaying it - Random piece of equipment (not sure if this is restriced to equipment type; I got Battered Helm out of it) at the end of the encounter

Sparing it - Random blessing

I could have sworn the little tooltip for it said it had the potential to give food. Argh.

Both slaying and sparing it still give you an opportunity to get food.

Yeah, the potential food gains come at the end of the event, where you either have to tie or beat the dice roll target to get some food.

The fabled beast part of it doesn't actually affect the competition.

Hmm...the only time I slayed the beast, I ended up tying the dice roll, so maybe things change if you roll differently?

I know it makes an appearance on Huge Failure as well, but I didn't go through with the whole card since I needed to get a blessing from it for the quest. *shrugs*

Some of the slay/don't slay outcomes can affect the target. What you roll relative to the target has an effect on what you receive.
