Hi! I removed your other thread (one is enough, and this currently doesn't sound like a bug).

I'm sure others will chime in with specific advice, but it might help to know what you've tried. You can visit every card and still not end up rescuing enough people - it comes down to what you try to do during encounters along the way and how successful you are.

Did you get huge success in the Hungry Paupers wheel gambit and/or precision gambits?

Yeah this is a bug. Not giving any indication that a greater success was possible is broken, plain and simple.

You mean that not hitting "failure" on the wheel or only hitting "success" on the precision when there's a "huge success"? Oh, totally no indication.

There is a visible penalty: the food price goes up. There is no indication of how many villagers there are to save if you do it perfectly, so the number you do save is entirely without context. So any reasonable player will infer that the price of Failure was an increased price instead of a lowered one.

There is literally no scenario in which failing the gambit and then paying the increased price accomplishes *anything at all* for your quest. No other portion of Chariot does that, and (almost?) no portion of any other challenge either.

There is other scenario's where Failing is the optimal course of action.
High Priestess has multiple Blizzard events. Huge Failure leads to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 1x Gain Any+ 1x Combat + 1x Pain, where Success leads to ♥♥♥♥ all, and Fasilure to 1x Pain

Meanwhile in The Hermit the same event just has normal 2x failure on Huge Failure.

So the answer to this one is if you chase the kids and fail instead of just feeding them you only get half (4) of them instead of all (8) of them.
