A very short but relaxing Christmas themed hidden object game. The story is simple, helping three old women by searching stuff around the house. There are only five locations in the whole game.

The objectives were confusing at first, didn't know what to use or where to go, but overall the experience is relaxing and nice although some of the items you need to find named incorrectly.

Pros:
+Relaxing music.
+Ok story
+Steam achievements.

Cons:
-Short game.
-Few locations.

I recommend it because it is very relaxing and cozy Christmas game.

Christmas Adventure: Candy Storm (IHOG)

This is a nice game for the holidays, and fun for the whole family.

There are only four scenes that you walk around in, but there are also a ton of zoom-in scenes for interaction and hidden objects, which expand the gameplay quite a bit.

The hidden object scenes are plentiful, and will be visited multiple times, but they do have new items added in each time. I had fun seeing how many items I could find without looking at the list. There is a misclick penalty, but it takes a bit to activate.

Hints are refillable, and work to tell you what direction to go and what item to use where in addition to finding objects in the HOS.

All Steam achievements come from natural game progression - you won't have to actually work for any of them, so no worries on using those hints!

The music is all from the Nutcracker Suite, setting a nice atmosphere.

Despite the fact that there are a lot of localization issues, I found this to be a delightful and relaxing - albeit not very long - break in my day.

Recommended to hidden object fans who are looking for an easygoing game to pass their time. :D

Very easy Christmas-themed hidden object game. Easy HOS scenes, christmas themed, casual gameplay, nothing complicated. Achievements are impossible to miss throughout the game. I completed it in two hours.

The winter holiday season can be one of the most joyous times of the year for many, and it goes without saying that Christmas is a big part of that joy. If you celebrate Christmas or are just familiar with the usual festivities then you’ll understand this game right away. It has all the things the holiday has; snow, candy, gifts, cooking and baking, helping out others and of course adorable little old ladies. This game is as if Kris Kringle himself sat down and decided to develop a causal game. If you’re a scrooge then bah humbug to you, try Christmas Adventure: Candy Storm anyway!

The story is very simple, you’re dashing through the snow in your red pickup truck loaded with presents when all of a sudden you’re hit with a magical wave of energy. Your car has been turned into candy and you’ve landed in what seems to be a festive holiday land! My first instinct was to eat my new diabetes-mobile but your character seeks help in restoring it to its metal form. It seems these three nice old ladies that live in a gingerbread house made a mistake with their spell and now need your help to reverse it, while they also need help with other mundane tasks. At one point I was getting suspicious that they actually stopped me on purpose to have someone help do things they couldn’t do since they’re old. However, they are very nice and they help you get back on the road again. The game’s store front page says you’re playing as Santa’s Granddaughter, Lisa, but this is never mentioned in-game, which was a missed opportunity on the part of the developers.

You use your mouse to play the game, clicking on things and people to interact with them. You also collect useful items that will need to progress through certain obstacles along the way. The main aspect of the game are hidden item scenes. You’re given a list of items to find and a chaotic scene of Christmas fun to sift through, in the end finding the one actual item that you needed. There are also puzzles as well but there are not many and most are rather easy. You will mainly be helping the old ladies out and doing quite a few hidden-item scenes in this game which I really liked.

The graphics are straight out of a Christmas card. Everything Christmasy can be found here, trees and candy canes, angels and bells, so it’s over-the-top festive. The game is very beautiful and full of color, the visuals put an instant smile on my face when I opened up the program. There are beautiful holiday lights, garland, twinkling stars and so much more everywhere. To go with the theme, the music is also holiday inspired some tunes even being old classics you may recognize. There is no voice acting at all, however.

I played this game in April but it felt like mid-December the whole time. This is a bare bones hidden object game, the plot is simple with no twists or turns and the gameplay is traditional. The game is also a bit short, I completed it within three hours. Also, I noticed a few spelling and grammatical errors in the text. However, the game is also only two dollars and has trading cards on Steam so it’s a good value for what you’re given. Christmas Adventure: Candy Storm is a fun treat any time of the year and I fully recommend it.

First steam game of Argali Entertainment (a 10-15 people developer team). Its a symphatic hidden object game with not to much, only a few little puzzles & many christmas charme on only 4 screens, but with many to find & use. For hidden object fans i give 77 % (because 1 game of developer & low price with 1,99), for achievement hunter i give 84 % (could have a few more achievements). Thx 4 reading.

Christmas Adventure: Candy Storm is a relaxing, Christmas-themed casual hidden object puzzle game that’ll take you about two hours to complete. It has little in the way of replay value, but is well-priced for what it is, and so justifies it.

Christmas Adventure: Candy Storm is an extremely casual game, such that you can play it with just a mouse. It consists of a handful of scenes that you interact with by clicking on them. Some are hidden object scenes, and you get a list of items to find in a Christmas-themed mess. Others are more interactive and might require you to unlock a door or something. Occasionally, you’ll be challenged with a puzzle, such as opening a lock, which you do by arranging some items in a certain order, for example. All of these are pretty easy but just in case you can’t beat them, or don’t enjoy them, there’s a skip button to let you carry on with the game.

The game provides a hint feature for times where you’re stuck, since objectives can sometimes be confusing. I appreciated this and used it once or twice. It has a fairly slow recharge speed too, so you can’t rely on it too heavily, which I like as it encourages you to actually try at the game. However, you can’t tell (or at least I couldn’t) how close it was to a full recharge – there was no meter or anything. I wish this had been otherwise, because some items are mis-named and I couldn’t find them as a result, and waiting for the recharge to finish without knowing when it would be was a little on the boring side.

I appreciate that all the achievements are dropped during gameplay as you progress, and are unmissable. When you finish the game, you will have 100% completed the achievements. This was a nice change that I appreciated. For completionists, this game is a dream.

Sound design is fine. There’s minimal other noise aside from the game music which is light and pleasingly Christmassy, if a little repetitive at times. Some other actions in the game have corresponding audio too, such as a satisfying indicator tone when you select something in a hidden object scene, a scraping noise when you scrape something, or a clicking noise as you turn a lock, etc. It’s nothing comprehensive but it’s immersive enough and gives the game just that little bit more atmosphere.

The story is very basic, and revolves around you having to help three old ladies who I believe are all sisters in order to get something you want. They’ll give you odd quests, like always in this genre of game, and you have to go around looking through loads of rubbish and using some of the useful items you find to complete objectives. It’s quite a friendly, festive, and cosy-feeling story, but it’s not in any way emotional or particularly memorable. It’s just there as something to drive/incentivise the gameplay, and that’s fine. I expected nothing more.

The graphics are fine. Cutscenes are clear enough, and the game looks pretty with its set design and the assets sprinkled around. The few characters you meet are animated enough to feel alive, and various lighting in different scenes brings out colder and warmer feelings respectively.

However, it does seem the game was designed for square-shaped screens, presumably of a 4:3 aspect ratio. Playing it in fullscreen on a 16:9 widescreen monitor made the image appear less clear and stretched. Not by any means unplayable, but noticeable. However, no other reviews I’ve seen mention this so it could just be me.

If you play hidden object games a lot, and know what to expect, I don’t think Christmas Adventure: Candy Storm will disappoint. It is quite short compared to most others, the graphics aren’t as good, and the story is incredibly lackluster, but this isn’t trying to be game of the year. It’s a cheap, fun way to spend a few hours getting into the festive, Christmas spirit. I’d recommend it.

This was a fine game. It's the first Hidden Object Game (HOG) that I've ever tried. That being said, it was really more of a treasure hunt than anything else. You might have 30 seconds of a hidden-object puzzle, and then 30 minutes of a graphic adventure game: find the key to unlock the box to get the get the magnet to find the screw to repair the scissors because the scissors are needed to cut the shrubbery, etc etc. Fortunately, everything is used, and the game doesn't let you use the wrong thing on the wrong object. In addition to it being a HOG and an adventure game, there are many other puzzles: jigsaw puzzles, sliding puzzles, a painting puzzle, an object-manipulation (rotation) puzzle, and so forth. Lots of puzzles.

At any rate, the game was worth playing through once. All the achievements are story-related so you can't miss any. There were no bugs or glitches, and there was no pixel-hunting. The HOG scenes are detached from everything else and are relatively compact, so they were all doable. I had to Google a few words that were apparently translated into medieval British English or Welsh or something-- the game is Russian-- and I had to accept that 'chocolade' meant chocolate, but otherwise it was fine. One and half thumbs up!

Despite the small playing area and the lack of plot, the sheer Christmas spirit, coupled with incredible hidden object scenes, result in a bit gaudy, but fun game.

If we would somehow form the essence of the corniest Christmas decorations into a hidden object game, we would get Christmas Adventure: Candy Storm, where every pixel emanates enough garish holiday scenery to drive any Grinch clinically insane.

Both the gameplay and the levels are textbook definitions of short but intense. There are four screens in total, so packed with hotspots that it takes excellent memory or the spam of the hint button to find our way among them.
The eventual reward is a plethora of great (and repeated) hidden object screens, where the items are numerous, yet easily distinguishable. They are the only noteworthy part of Christmas Adventure though, because there is next to no actual story, and the conventional puzzles are more like ways to increase playtime than actual challenges.

Great little game, reminds me of when I was younger and I had those CD hidden object games that I was so enthralled by. Just a really nice, feel-good, Christmas themed game. A Few little spelling/grammar things, but it doesnt make the text unbearable, you still get the idea and can complete the game without it hindering you.
