Custom Survivors?

The game seems to have an interesting Kind of Xcom meets Rimworld feel to it which really excites me, but one of my favorite things is coming up with the names, faces, and personalities of my survivors which gets me more invested if/when they die. IS there a way to control a character's name, face, etc?

When you start a new game you can click the gear to customize their faces, names, clothes etc. You can edit new survivors during the game by clicking a survivor's portrait and there will be a little gear that you can click to edit them. I don't think you can change gender or choose traits other than rerolling them unfortunately.

I've clicked the gear but don't see how you upload a new face as the update states.

There's a button under the portrait that says "Use your own portrait". Click it and it will open the custom portraits window + you'll see a help page explaining how to use it.
