I was looking through the workshop more as a precursor to buying the game and noticed a good chunk of mods, even the most popular items, are now defunct. Specifically I had my eye on mods that increase the world size substantially and fill it with higher concentrations of sites and enemies. I was having fun until the ~100 day mark, at which point every raid became full of Morax, Fallen Angels, Cerberus, and Legion. oh. And Lich. That the game becomes more of a save-scum simulator in relation to strategy/event RNG? Is it also true that optimized runs only last on average 80 or so days? Reason I ask is because I like squad-based tactical games a lot, but typically only under the proviso that you have the option/flexibility to make any one playthrough persist on an epic scale with the freedom to grind, loot and min/max every aspect of gameplay.
