Worth it in 2019?
I have dbfighterz. But, I wanted a more rpgish style game. Is this it? Is it good for story, rpg play, and some pvp content if I don't feel like doing the 2d fight thing?

The game is a decent RPG, but it won't blow you away. The story isn't particularly spectacular, it's essentially a rehash of dragon ball events with a self insert character. It's not bad, but it's not gonna blow your socks off with any plot points. Game play wise it's one of the better 3D arena style fighters right now, with some light RPG elements. PVP content isn't something I can comment on because I never do PVP against randos.

If you liked Raging Blast 2, this game is like that, but slightly less so, and with up to 7 people/bots fighting simultaneously.

Honestly the best part of the game is creating your character(s). Designing presets w/ different clothes and skills, creating certain styles across up to 8 different characters, each w 8 different presets, so 64 possible slots for making your own characters.

The gameplay itself is really good, though the story and rpg elements are pretty lacking.

Also, in terms of being a 'fighting game,' xv2 is wayy different from fighterz. I personally like xv2 100 times better than fighterz.

Also I appreciate the online and offline pve way more than any pvp in the game. But that's a personal preference more than anything else.

It's got a lot of characters, lot of customization, and a much different flavor than fighterz. It's easier to learn than fighterz. Very RPG oriented. You'll most likely spend most of your time on your avatar, but the original characters have different presets, and some can have custom stats/moves/costumes/ect. via the partner customization feature. Pvp, well that entirely depends on where you live and what time of the day you play. It feels highly unfair playing against someone who is lagging/1 bar connection.

The single player experience is definitely solid. Takes a long time to do everything in the game. It even has a full fledged 3d card battle/figure collecting mode that I haven't even tried yet. Online quests is fun too. Can't say that pvp is really good, and the AI is a bit trash once you get really good at the game.

I think Fighterz is boring and a little one dimensional. There's a whole lot more going on in XV2. That's just my opinion.

it's a very good game for a fan, it's full of farservice served with a nice gameplay but it's nothing really astonishing, but if you're a big fan and you love the idea to create your own character in the univer of dragon ball, you can't pass this game, other than that it's a decent game but if you don't like the license that much it will be more "meh" for you, if you want a fighting game just check other stuff.

It is not a perfect game, but it is the best dbz game with character customization. Tenkaichi 2/3 combat will still be the best though. It has not been dethroned.

That's very laughable, cuz the gameplay in the Tenkaichi games does NOT hold up at all upon revisits. Like at all.
