I won't recommend to buy all of the dlcs, unless you want a character from a specific one, because the all the dlcs are going for 200$+ as is right now.
It feels like Xeno 1 was a test run for Xeno 2. The only thing the first game does better in my opinion is give you're character a good amount of screen time and action scenes in the single player cutscenes.
If you're thinking about grabbing Xeno 2, just skip the first one :)
Edit: if you're looking for a complete edition, the Switch version has the original story mode baked into it (If you don't mind playing at 30fps)
Hopefully Bandai would eventually sell Legend Patrol (and Legend 1 & 2 for XV3), but it is anyone's guess whether that would happen. In the meantime, I recommend picking up the DLC during a steep sale - there is plenty of vanilla content to keep you tied up for quite a while.
Unless you're going to cheat and do a save edit or something, I say avoid XV1.
basically if you get XV1 + XV2 you will have more of Xenoverse without buying a lot of dlcs for 2. combat system isnt that terrible is just more simple. but if you don't have patience to enjoy a game in slow pace then is not good idea to get play 1 over 2.
oh and pro tip that you wont find anywerse else regarding XV1 if you decide to grind for mastery with elder kai, do not waste Shenron wish to grow (it adds missining exp to level up), before 90, since you would be only able to use it ONCE.
regarding watching the same scenes, if you are a fan, then you probably played many other db games with the same repeative stuff over and over again or watched db Z db kai etc few times so it depends, if you play XV1 to XV2 quickly it can be tiresome but making few months break can help.
Yeah, Xenoverse 1 was pretty much a tech demo of what would eventually become Xenoverse 2.
Only reason to get Xenoverse 1 right now is if you want to import your custom character into the story. But that's kind of pointless, since A) they're not a playable character, and B) the only time you get to see them fight is during the end of the story mode.
Aside from that, their presence in Xenoverse 2 is non-consequential.
