Goku Black is not exactly a great concept either, it's just poor design, it's like watching Goku fight another Goku but with a different color pallete and the sad part is that it's not even well executed or original. They could have just made a dark saiyan with a dark SSJ or made a character like Nova from GT but I guess that wasn't in the budget?
It seems like the entire Super series is just one big collection of horrible fan service not done well with it's not well thought out storylines. Any passionate DB fan could come up with ANYTHING better than what they been producing. Sure it's amusing to watch, especially Jiren VS Goku but it's horribly inconscient compared to DBZ which does have it's own issue's but at least the power levels of characters was nowhere as bad as they are in super.
So are you saying you didn't watch ANY of the dragon ball movies before Battle of Gods? If that's so, then how do you know anything about Bardock enough to speak about him?
Jiren was also a character who had wasted potential. I thought Super was really going somewhere with him, when Jiren asked what the purpose was for Goku pursuing strength. Because when you think about it, the Pride Troopers are far better heroes than the Z Fighters will ever be. They're some of the most powerful warriors in their universe, and they dedicate that power to saving people and protecting Universe 11 from evil threats.
The Z Fighters, on the other hand, remain primarily situated on earth, only dealing with threats after they show up on their doorstep. And the only thing Goku and Vegeta care about is trying to show off how strong they can get. They are selfish, short sighted, and irresponsible with powers that would make them indistinguishable from gods.
And then they completely DESTROYED any potential Jiren had for being a compelling character, when they revealed his wish. Even his backstory was just hand waved with a half ass explanation about a generic, faceless villain!
i say slightly more interesting, because at least jiren doesn't have that awful, AWFUL motivation of hearing goku cry as a child to drive himself along.
it's funny how even though super makes broly a good character, but that the classic broly still manages to re-incarnate his charmless oafishness in the form of jiren.
it gives cac saiyans vegetas improved ssgss form, which is a nice touch i didnt expect.
it looks freaking awesome... as soon as i got it, it replaced the regular ssgss for me. just wait. soon enough if dlc keeps going we might get new forms for cac saiyans. i'd be lying if i said i didn't want saiyans to use the power ball technique to turn into great apes. .3.
be honest, the cac itself is probably the character we all use the most. as its just... so fun to experiment with. i'll gladly support the dlc if it means more options for my cac.
Future Trunks was written by Toriyama as having a sword, but was never stated where the sword came from.
Not to mention Kid Trunks's sword at the end of movie 13, even if we count it as cannon, has nothing to do with Future Trunks.
Maybe in the future he will consider it (the same he did with Brolly, which wasn't cannon either until the recent recreation).
I also never stated I didn't watch any movie, I watched the few movies that were either interesting or cannon, but I at least can tell them apart.
Again, Ribrianne being here is most likely the result of what the decision makers felt would sell more copies of the game and the DLC, mostly in Japan. While I suppose they do count other markets, Japan may still be their primary, so they may draw more feedback from it. Meaning, I believe this character was made to please the Japanese, and was sent to the West simply to keep all regions of the game the same. If this was Sega, you wouldn't have to worry about having Ribrianne in the Western version, as it would have been a Japan exclusive thing. So maybe we should be thankful that Ultra Pack was not just a bunch of Vegetas....
Then again, only one DLC features Ribrianne, and some past DLC have brought characters that Westerners may like more, like Dabura and Gohan-absorbed Buu. So one day you get what you want, and the next day the guy next to you gets what he wants.
On that end, and in the subject of playable characters, I'm REALLY surprised they haven't made KoT playable in any of her forms (she does have an adult fighter form, for those who don't know). I feel this would be a character that would please both Japanese and Westerners, if they get her skill set right, at least. Android 21 would have been a nice addition too. But I'm derailing already, so I'll stop here.
No it isn't. The Tapion movie features Gotenks, which means it takes place in a time line where Goku survives the heart condition, and they defeated Perfect Cell. And, as we've seen in the series so far, time travel works on multiverse theory. The time line which Goku survived had no effect on the time line where he died.
I believe it's implied that Bulma is responsible for giving Trunks his sword, since she's the one who repaired it after he broke it on 18's arm.
♥♥♥♥ the CaC Saiyans!
We need more forms for the non-saiyans, that was the entire reason people demanded them in the first place. Xenoverse 1 was heavily biased in favor of Saiyan players, and those of us who aren't Goku / Vegeta fanboys wanted the other playable races to get a chance to shine. Dimps STARTED Xenoverse 2 like that, but then backpeddaled by nerfing every other transformation BUT Super Saiyan, and then adding more Super Saiyans on top of that.
Making God Ki a racial exclusive for Saiyans is stupid, because God Ki was a skill that anybody could learn. Both in Super, and in Dragon Ball Heroes. The fact that the gods take apprentices from all different kinds of races and elevate them to the status of godhood is also proof of that.
Hell, they could have released Toppo's Destroyer Ki as a multi-racial transformation, and that would have been acceptable!
To further this, none of the current gods are saiyans....
So yeah, where are my other race buffs? Even an updated potential unleashed (or a super PU above that) would help a bit. Though that would be the cheap way to do it.
Locked out of the minds of some executives behind the show, game, or both because they don't fit into the convenient easy pattern of step 1: "recolor Goku/Vegeta and slap a new word on the name", step 2: "have them beat up the latest bad guy with it", and step 3: "merch the heck out of it."
