Early Ball Farming
Want to start collecting dragon balls quickly, but don't have the levels needed to face time patrolers on missions? Well, there's a quick and easy method that's gauranteed to get you balls, and you can do it right after the Raditz fight!

Some NPC's around Conton City want to challenge your CaC to a sparring match, and if you win, they will give you a dragon ball. The first of these is Sanud, who appears outside the academy. The second one is located near the bamboo forest along the path to Goku's house.

The best part about this is that they appear for every new character. Meaning you can delete your extra slots and make new characters over and over again and keep getting free balls without the extensive level grind!

Replaying the game intro and Raditz fight every time for a single dragon ball sounds tedious, to be honest. Although it's a good way to get a few extra Dragon Balls if you're obsessed with deleting and making new characters like me.

Any Dragon Balls you get from any character are good for any other of your characters, so you could farm PQ 4 with your main and use those Dragon Balls with your lower level characters.

If none of your characters are that high level, I'd play through the game until you can unlock Explosion of Namek, which pits you against 3 not-so-difficult patrollers.

You get 2 balls from this, and they're gauranteed rewards, unlike the PQ encounters which are randomized. And the PQ encounters are usually teams in the high 80's, which is almost impossible for new characters to effeciently grind on because your attributes are too low to make a difference.
