Does the online gameplay works?

I've always played on single player, but I would love to play with a friend. He didn't buy the game yet, but we want to make sure we can play online. When I try to join a game with strangers, there is no link available

The thing to do is for both of you to buy the updated (from 2016) version; Titan Quest: Anniversary Edition (updated TQ AND TQ:IT combined). Nordic picked up the game after THQ went belly up. They did alot of bug fixes, added some random bosses and have multi-player support for 'their' game.

There's also 2 new DLC's out for the AE version; Ragnarok which is ACT 5 of the game and Atlantis which is a side quest area off of Rhodes.
