Mechanics won't fix my broken rides
I've searched the forums and can't seem to find much regarding this issue. I see lots of posts about mechanics getting stuck AFTER they repair a ride...but mine won't even attempt to repair the broken rides. The staff list always has them down as "wandering" and the ride info as "waiting for available mechanic".

Am I missing something obvious (or not so obvious) here? They are not tired, I have paths to the ride, there is a staff room, etc.

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

Do you have a savegame where this is happening? If yes please send it to themeparkitect@gmail.com and we'll take a look.

(Make sure your mechanics can actually reach the ride exit and aren't tired first, as that's usually the issue instead of a bug)

Make sure you assign your mechanics to a zone, and make sure that the zones cover the exits of your rides.

Mechanics not assigned to a zone will accept random tasks in any zone, which means they spend 99% of their walking around, either to complete a task on the other side of the map, or because they are without tasks.

I had a big problem with rides not seeming to get repaired which was due to a couple of mechanics who weren't assigned zones. They'd get assigned repair jobs on the other side of the map, meaning rides regularly took forever to repair. Assigning these mechanics to the zones with the most rides in them instantly solved all my problems in this regard.

Also bear in mind that tired/overworked staff will head to staff rooms during which time they won't handle any tasks either. Make sure you have staff rooms dotted liberally about your park. Otherwise the tired workers again spend most of their time slowly trudging from one end of the park to another.

I have a problem where I think the "needs repair" icon does not get updated or removed. I downloaded a log flume ride and it broke. The ride is still functioning, people are getting on and off the ride, it seams to be running fine except the icon is still present. If I drop an engineer next to the box at the exit he just walks away and is listed a wandering around. He is assigned to that zone, the zone covers the entire ride and exit and is not too tired to work. All I can do is ignore it and I doubt it will break again as it is already maked someplace as broken however the engineers don't know it.

I have a problem where the mechanics are avaliable and/or assigned to zones yet they will not fix the rides that are broken and are constantly "wandering around".

Come on now, I've already written 3 times in this thread alone what to do if something seems broken:
