It's not about riding roller coasters. It is an economy and management game (more than any other parkgame), it has a long and varied campaign mode (gotta love that!), it is so well done in many little details including music, UI, balance, visitor behaviour and preferences, the Devs are usually responsive and every month a community workshop contest is held.
All that makes the game so well-done and fun imo. I have now so many hours in this game and I was sceptical in the beginning as well
BTW if you need to ride a roller coaster or any other flat ride the mod is called Coaster-Cam.
1. Gives the old vibes of RCT and RCT2 which I love.
2. Has more customizability for design and playthrough with the items than RCT games but less than PC which is overwhelming to me...
3. A cute look with nice graphics.
4. Not hard to run.
5. Steam workshop content which is super fun (you can get a mod to ride the coasters...)
Community is good.
6. nice gameplay, not to hard not too easy with monthly fun contests.
7. The staff is even better!
And probably a few more points that I might have forgotten...
You know you can play smarter and faster by making small blueprints right?
Saying that Theme Park took gameplay serious is hilarious. The game, especially the management aspect, was completely broken and unbalanced. All you needed to do to get rich was make your fries as salty as possible and have your cola with the maximum amount of ice and boom, you'd be rich in no time. The AI was utterly broken as well. There simply was no challenge at all. Theme Park is one of the most overrated games ever (simply a typical Molyneux game, after 2 hours you saw everything the game had to offer and then you start to notice all the massive flaws, bugs and missing things that should be there)
Theme Park World which btw. came after RCT was just a joke then as well, because RCT was miles better. It offered more of everything and once you dive into the mechanics, you will notice just how crazy the game is. Building Coasters has to follow certain rules, heck building paths has to follow certain rules and the AI for the park visitors was out of this world in how diverse and deep it is. Marcel Vos on Youtube goes into great detail explaining RCT and its mechanics and you quickly see that while on the surface it looks like a simple game, there's an entire thing underneath it.
Parkitect sadly isn't quite as deep but still it comes relatively close to what i actually imagined a proper RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 to be. Same camera perspective, most of the same style in how to build tracks and design your stuff and some great useful additions on top.
Let's agree to disagree here.
Has room to grow too. *Water Park Rides DLC Cough Cough*
Planet coaster has a shallower management system, Parkitect might be easier to build, but imo there is a more serious management aspect to Parkitect (the reason, why I prefer it over planet coaster).
Imo in Parkitect it is easier to understand why visitors behave as they do (and what they need/want).
Planet Coaster is very dlc infested, but currently on sale.
Usually I would always recommend Parkitect over planet coaster,
Maybe I am not qualified enough to give an advice for children
how so?
