The War of Avareon open beta is live, and it's free. Click Request Access on the store page, and the War of Avareon Playtest will appear in your Steam library, ready to install.

• The full campaign: seven story chapters with illustrated, voiced cutscenes

• The Book of Tales: standalone challenges set in Avareon's history, with more to come

• Skirmish against AI on two maps, at three difficulty levels

• Multiplayer for 2 to 4 players, hotseat or online, joining friends straight through Steam

• Sequential or simultaneous turns, three victory conditions and plenty of setup options

Closed testers have already shaped the game: clearer feedback, battle reports and many balance fixes came straight from their reports. Now it's time for more players and more maps, battles and strategies than I can test alone. Multiplayer especially is the newest part of the game, so it's where your reports help most.

Expect rough edges and balance changes along the way. Progress made in the beta doesn't carry over to the full release.

Please post in the War of Avareon Playtest discussions. The pinned Known issues thread lists what's already known and how to report a bug.

Thank you for playing, and see you on the battlefield!
