Don't worry about a game over.
This game is designed to be tough. Your hard work partially carries over when you lose and you will most likely fail on your 1st playthrough, this is actually part of the game's design.

I just wanted to post this since it will frustrate people who play their first playthrough for hours and realize they can't beat the game in one shot when it comes down to it.

The one general suggestion I will give is to make sure you max out overlords affection everytime. If you don't, you're going to have a bad time.

I'm open to questions if people have any, I have the platinum trophy for this game on PSN.

yeah Ive heard this game is amazingly save scummy because you need to constantly copy your saves over to avoid this problem.

One of the big reasons I havent bought it.

No, I have finished this game in Vita and bought it again because I love it. As long as you keep playing and build your character to learn useful skills, it's easy. Not to mention after some points accumulation you can abuse skills to deal two-three shots kill for 1st and 2nd Trillion forms.

This game reminds me of ZHP Unlosing Ranger vs Darkdeath Evilman. And that is a good thing. :noire:

What carries over?

Items(Very important for 100% affection with overlords, hard to do it 1st run), gold, you get alot of exp that carries over from a NG+. Tokens and Medals don't though so use them all before the end.

However, you only get that huge exp boost with the first character you pick on a NG+, so don't screw up and let her die early to something stupid or you just wasted your NG+. If you play your cards right and have played enough around with all the skills, you will beat it easily on your 2nd playthrough.

I could over strategies for building up characters and farming exp but honestly. Everyone should just die their first playthrough. It's an ending after all and I feel like the game is designed for you to get that ending first.

Maybe I'll write an non spolier ending guide. Just because there are so many endings and variations on endings depending on the circumstances. Though, you will get all of the endings easily if you just play enough and create saves at key points...so maybe that would be a waste.

Also, there are romantic scenes with all the girls...even some kind of awkward ones but only major fan service is the scenes at the hot springs which are very random. Have fun reloading for that.

The thing is, it breaks my heart every time to see the girl last moment. It would be great if Compile Heart makes another game like this, I like the romance between each character.

Honestly, that's probably why I spent so much time on this game...which isn't common for me. I thought this game had some great qualities with the soul crushing bad ending being one of them.

Correct, you start the game literally over, Trillion starts at 100%. You get a huge exp boost based upon how many overlords you had leveled in the previous game so your first overlord will be a beast. This is only for your first overlord though in the NG+, don't let it go to waste, you can go straight to the final form with them if you know what you are doing.

What?!?! Only first overlord you start with get a huge exp boost as for the rest oeverlords you will have to train them from scratch? So what if you happen to fail again in your second playthrough?

So here's the catch, first overlord got the exp. Certain portion of the exp will always be transferred to the next overlord. Surely after accumulated enough exp point, you can try to learn skill that deal damage to multiple parts of trillion tiles to earn huge exp boost in one battle since the bigger the damage dealt, more experience points will be rewarded.

Do try to learn skills and passive skills to boost damage as high as possible when fighting Mokujin Trillion, you won't be surprised that you can two-three shots kill Trillion 1st and 2nd form with the right skills, and getting 9999 exp for every stats when killing Mokujin or Trillion.

While it's possible to fail in the 2nd playthrough, I think you will have enough experience that anyone could beat Trillion by the end of that 2nd playthrough. Unless you don't really understand the skills and stats but you should have 20 hours of playtime by that point, you really should have a good grip. You will still have an advantage in your 3rd playthrough, you keep all your money and items. You can build a bigger defensive buffer with your overlords affection points and you can level up their weapons more. Plus you likely gained more exp during the 2nd playthrough and therefore on your 3rd playthrough you will have even more exp to spend on your first overlord.

Personally, I nearly killed Trillion with my 1st overlord on my 2nd playthrough. If you focused like I said on trying to max overlord affection, you will have a ton of experience on that 1st overlord.

A little tip might be in order.

Final Sprint is probably the most important skill in the game.

Yeah final sprint is important at least until you got enough points for upgrade stats, and combining start dash with final sprint which will brings all your stats to 999 at the start of battle if you have enough base stats without wasting any single turn. And you can even kill Trillion last form with the 1st overlord. Just try to learn skill that boost attack damage, and final sprint + multi area skill tiles to get the biggest experience possible from dealing millions of damage.

Do you want to back up your saves before taking on Trillion just in case something goes really badly wrong?
