Sub or dub
Hows the english dub of this game? Pretty good like Disgaea, or terrible like the Neptunia games?

I thought all the girls' English voices were poor, but Zeabolos' English voice is very nice. That being said, a tiny portion of the game is dubbed, whereas Japanese voices cover almost everything, so if English is what you want, most of the game will be in silence.

Oh, it's one of those dubs. Japanese it will be then.

are we again in middle age when fackers guted jrpg and pasted ♥♥♥♥♥♥ dub in the game?
Im still angry and Tales of Legendia and Tales of Abyss. they had HALF of the game silenced while originals had almost everything voiced.
60$ for a games with poor english translation and cut voices. Good old times.
At least nowdays games give you options.

As someone else said, playing with English audio is basically playing in silence for most of the game. You're missing a lot of comments made by the overlords at the start/end of days, for example.

Wouldn't the lack of audio only effect those who can understand Japanese?

Because if I can't understand what's benig said, it's not a big issue for me as long as I can read in my native language, English.

hm. Then you might want to cut your ears. After all most of the world speaks on different languages. Why bother listening to them if you can just read signs and use gestures.

I'm not sure what the hell you mean there.
I am aware that most of the world speaks different languages.

I just happen to know literally no other language besides English, and have no problem with a game as long as I know what I can do in it.

That's why I asked my question.

I see no reason to suggest I pull a Vincent Van Gogh. :)

I agree. However, to answer your question, some players like hearing Japanese even if they can't understand it all. It helps them get immersed in the experience, certainly more than mostly music and silence. That's why voice acting as a whole exists in the first place; to help with immersion. Even if you don't understand what they're saying, it makes the characters more of their own characters. I suppose you could just give them your own voices, as a counterargument. It's different ,though, reading text to yourself than having a character speak to you.

Purely depends on the person. Some people like to know that characters are speaking even if they don't know what's being said. Similar to how some people can fully enjoy songs in other languages without feeling the need to have to understand what the vocals are saying.

I can understand choice between native language and another. But between silence and actual voices? Whats there to choose?
Also what stops you from learning other languages? You connect words with subtitles and after few games you have vocabulary of 70-100 words.
Lol, You think I learned english by going to school? Not really. I played badly translated games.
Translating game word by word and learning about grammar in the process was only way to continue playing with comfort.

Believe me, I would love to know more than a few words in varous languages, but I don't have the time to learn a grand majority.

Regardless, thank you, Mr. Manual, and Chika Ogiue for helping me understand better.

This is not related but trillion was made by some of the same staff who also did Disgaea.

I am of the opinion that better voices in other languages > a bad dub to my language; and the English translation is very GOOD.

The inmersion is quite different. Even so, is your choice, I prefer to hear voices over background music all the time.

Nice song, same singer than Aldonoah Zero, loved her vocals.
