Whirligig

Whirligig

Is there still a way to disable VR mode?
I saw that older versions supported this with command -disablevr; but I don't think this is still working? at least not working when I put it into steam launch options.

Hi

I've not disabled this feature but I'll retest it in case. A lot has changed so it might not be working the way it should.

I'm working on a lot of updates to improve the noneVR support so it's very much not being removed.

Can I ask what the issue is when you run Whirligig and don't want VR? Is it that it appears in the headset when you would prefer not? I'm going to be releasing a new beta soon so let me know what the issue is and how you would like it to work so I can make the desired changes.

All the best

Phil
Hi Phil, it's just a nice feature to have - so I can view VR content on a flat desktop screen instead of putting the headset on when there's extensive periods; sometimes it gets too warm in the summer and so on. Also I do some graphics testing; sometimes it's easier to show people glitches and misalignment on the screen than having them to put on a headset

Hi

I've started working on tutorials for advanced Whirligig use. The first one I've done is for NoneVR playback and the extra options for that. Here is the video:

It's a first attempt a a tutorials so probably a bit too long etc but I hope it helps to make none VR Whirligig easier.

All the best

Phil
