how to upgrade to an earlier version than 4.72?
how to upgrade to an earlier version than 4.72-4.76? In older versions, changing the controller worked correctly for me, and now in all versions where the pointer turned red, changing the controller does not work. That is, when you press the controller change, only the laser pointer changes, and the buttons do not change remain the same.

HI

I'd like to fix that and I'll look into it. Regarding going back to an earlier version that v4.762. As you've noticed I've deactivated all the version apart from the latest beta and default. Do you remember what version you want before v4.762 so I can reactivate it?

I don't remember exactly, but the better version in which the arrow cursor was not red. probably 4.62-4.68
It seems that version 3.76 has been for a long time. Can it?
Please activate these versions.

This guide might be able to help you out... I'll assume it works for everything on steam not just games

Let us know if it works.

Hi

I've had a look and it seems all the versions prior to v.4.762 have been removed by Steam which is frustrating.

However looking at your original message I might be able to track it down or possible update the current version so there is an option for it to work in the same way.

Firstly can I ask you which headset you are using? One of the differences of the new way of doing and the old way was that because pretty much all controllers apart from the Vive had a distinct left controller and right controller. The Vive controllers are identical so it wasn't possible to know whether which it was the left or right controllers. So when you switched the laser it also switched the controllers.

Is the what you have or at least what you want to happen. So that when the laser switches the controller mapping does also? Do you have Vive controllers?

If this is the case it will make it easier for me to hunt down the version or better still add it in so if you are using the Vive controllers you can have the controller mapping switch as well.

Thanks for your patents. I've been worried about this update as it means a lot of changes for people and I've put it off for so long it's happened all in one go.

All the best

Phil

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately Steam restricted the amount of betas to 15 and I tidied up to allow the new version on there. My mistake to think there wasn't any one of a version before the last beta.

I am using Pimax 4k and Razer Hydra controllers. Everything worked fine for me before. In older versions, when the cursor was not red, when I pressed the change controller button, the controllers were swapped. That is, the left one performed the functions of the right one and vice versa. Both the buttons and the cursor have changed. But every time an update occurred that I could not turn off, and from the version when the cursor arrow turned red, I stopped switching normally. That is, the cursor itself switched, but the buttons did not change. It was just that the cursor ran to the right controller, then to the left, BUT the buttons on the controllers themselves did not change and did not change places, as it was before. I always went to Steam and returned to the version that was at the very top. The oldest. And then everything was fine. But after the 4.88 update, the top oldest version also changed and in it the cursor arrow also turned red, and accordingly, now in all versions that are in the incentive, switching controllers does not work for me.
In addition, now all videos with a resolution of 2700 began to freeze and desynchronization occurs. I've updated all the LAV codecs, but it doesn't help. Video 1920 (4k) works as well as before, but 2700 (5k) does not work now. And in older versions of the player they worked fine. I tried to include 5K video in other players in order to exclude problems with hardware and for example DeoVR Video Player and in others everything works fine too. Both 4k and 5k are played by other players perfectly, but in your player after the latest updates, 5k slows down and the controllers do not switch. I am very used to your product and would just like to be able to use the old version. Even if it is 2019. Because in the old versions everything worked fine, but now the controllers do not work either, and now it is still problematic with 5k.

I ask you to give the opportunity to use the old versions of the player that were in 2019-2020.

Thanks for letting me know the situation. Your description should give me enough information that I'll be able to find a version that works for you. It might take a couple of days to dig it out though. It's frustrating that Steam have removed the uploads I did before that last default otherwise I could of gone through them. I do have archives though so I'll dig though them and find the last one where the controllers work in the way you've described and upload that.

Hi, I've found an earlier version and made it active. It's version 4.67.

Give that one a go and let me know if you want one above or below it.

Hey! Everything is fine. This version 4.67 works well. Now the controllers switch correctly and the 5k video works without braking and desynchronization.
Now the most important thing:
1.How to prevent this version from updating automatically? In the steam menu, I did not find how to disable the auto-update of this version. Can I turn off the update?
2. If the update cannot be disabled, is it possible to somehow save this version on a local disk on my computer, so that in case of any problems, I could run it offline or use it to restore?

I'm just worried that Steam will update or delete this version again and I will have a problem again.

I have a solution that you can use but I don't want to mention it here. Could you email me phileday@yahoo.co.uk and I can explain what to do to prevent updates :)
