Thanks for these instructions. I've pinned it to help others.
As a lot of us are now in lockdown maybe I'll get a chance to do an accompanying video to go along with it.
With any luck it will also help me catch up with a lot of things. Although I have to say that I'm, like many others are finding it hard to work with the bombardment of info that's happening. Hopefully that'll all calm down and people will start to be able to work again, if only from the living rooms like me :)
Glad it worked for you! :)
I'm working on the Video Lan now and I think I've managed to improve performance so it might be work a try after I update that.
The part that breaks is not part of Whirligig, it's in the Windows subsystems related to decoding video.
well fine, it would be all great and I could move to Direct Show but I followed your instructions. I installed Lav Codec pack, and then I installed Filter Tweaker using your link and set all the 32/64 settings to use Lav and 5k/6k 180 vids are still skipping and stuttering.
But the videos using Lav codec stutter. Only 4k runs okay. The VideoLan video path option the image is just frozen, you can hear sound but the image is just frozen on all videos.
