Issues with video playback on Windows 11? (please get in touch)

Hi all

I've had a report that the video playback for Whirligig using the Media Foundation video path caused playback to be either slow or not work at all.

I'm investigating this my end, the person who had the issue found a solution in installing video filters and using the directshow playback.

If anyone else is having problems could you please either post here or email me [e-mail] as I'd like to get this issue sorted as soon as I can.

Media Foundation works for me, but only on some videos. Directshow plays all videos but it is very choppy. Trying to figure out the litekcodec settings.. if you have a link to how they should be set that would be great. Used to work flawlessly in Windows 10.

It's difficult to pin down why directshow might not be running smoothly but one of the most common issues is gpu decoding. So if that's not on it won't play back smooth. Here is a guide in setting up the LAV filters to have that on:

Thank you, that has finally solved all playback issues for me.

Great :) thanks for letting me know. The LAV filters are very good, in constant development and offer the widest support. Once set up and working thrh can play back anything.

No problem, I have one more tip for you, Virtual Home Theater automaticaly used my NVIDIA card for video playback even without codecs installed, if you could do that with Whirlgig as well i would fix playback problems for many people without the need of any configuration.
