10 Hour Session Achievment Question

So I've been in a session of this game for over 10 hours now, and I haven't gotten the achievement. I've been actively playing too, not afking. I was wondering if tabbing out of the game to check things like Discord resets the timer or something. Or if it only counts time in one save without reloading. If so that kind of sucks, because things start getting real weird around hour 7. Interactions stop working off your claim, or become hit and miss.

I made this on 14. Dec. 18 and even the time in pause menu (esc) counted.
