Cool trick to keep the camera from reversing
The camera swing around when I hit reverse bothers me, a lot, in most cases. I have found that when you load the game, immediately save, then load that save game, and the camera will stay fixed in third person driving view. You can still use free rotate if you need to

(devs, if you could give us a toggle to make this happen for those that prefer it to work this way, I, for one, would greatly appreciate it. Just, ... fix a buttload of other bugs in the game before you decide to address this feature!)

I play with keyboard and mouse (except digging with excavator, I use both thumbsticks) and I move the camera with mouse to follow the vehicles.

An option for the free view to fix to vehicle instead of map would be good, move camera to good angle and then it follows curves automatically (a combination of both external views).

Just hit 'C' a second time to get the external free view (no camera swing).

Yeah, the camera stays in a fixed position when you do that. The method above keeps it behind you.

Really?? I just hit 'C' twice from the drivers' seat and then I'm in external free view without the camera swiging around when I switch to reverse,

right, it's free view. If you turn, you are now looking at the side of the vehicle. That view the camera stays fixed to a map heading. Which is OK most of the time. Some vehicles I would rather have blade controls on the right side stick, so moving the camera around in that view isn't possible. I find it constantly switching around to the front to be tedious, and my method stop it from doing that. If you use another workaround, fine. I have seen lots of users comment that they don't like that particular "feature", and this method kills it.

Ok got it - good tip for those cases then! (For the truck I just prefer the free view as I find it easier to tell when the truck is 'on edge' and keep it from spinning...)
