You may have an issue with 2 identical joysticks (ie; 2 extreme 3d pro's) as the game may read them as one device. I have two different joysticks and they work fine. It's a bit of a mission setting them up, but certainly worth it (especially using the excavators).
I had to initially set my wheel and pedals up - unplug them and restart the game, then do the same with each of the joysticks (set up one - unplug restart game - set up the other - quit the game - plug everything back and you should be set. You have to re-map the controls for each vehicle so remember what you're assiging to each device! :))
I just searched the net for ISO standard excavator conrols;
Left hand left = Swing left.
Left hand right = Swing right.
left hand forward = Stick Boom (Dipper) away.
Left hand back = Stick Boom (Dipper) close.
Right hand left = Bucket curl in (closed)
Right hand right = Bucket curl out (dump)
Right hand forward = Main Boom down.
Right hand back = Main Boom up.
what puts me of the most personally is the fact you cant drive it whilst in digger mode...
Does actually anyone operate two Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joysticks with this game? And if so, how do you do that...? I'm not able to get it done... :(
actually shane the 'away' it says is the opposite of what the gamepad defaults to on here. forward/up should to drop the boom down. it goes up by default here. drove me nuts when i first started to use the excavator on here and had to reverse it. the rest is fine and normal though. its a shame folks are being trained wrong on here. lol. its ok i doubt they will use a real one. it was like a sim trying to make me use the gas as a brake and brake as a gas pedal. it was just wonky.
also.. your not spose' to drive while digging. thats a hazardous no no.
yea i know. old post. =)
The problem is that the game is unable to distinct the joysticks from each other when they are the same brand.
Here is how to fix this :
1. Download T.A.R.G.E.T software (thrustmaster only)
2. Create a profile by clicking "NEW CONFIGURATION"
3. Select T1600M and T1600M LEFT and click NEXT
4. Leave the T1600M as is, but change the T1600M LEFT JOYX to DX_YROT_AXIS, JOYY to DX_ZROT_AXIS, RUDDER to DX_Z_AXIS.
By doing that, the mapping of the joystick wont conflict with each other anymore. Click on NEXT.
5. You can map any other joystick button to your keyboard, check online tutorial of the software to see how. SAVE and FINISH.
6. Click on RUN CONFIGURATION and leave it open and running.
7. Start the game normally and map your joystick in the control setting of the game.
8. Enjoy driving your ISO or SAE excavator : https://www.bigrentz.com/blog/excavator-controls
PS : If for whatever reason when you start the RUN CONFIGURATION and both joystick just shut off, you need to force activate your USB ports : https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-usb-blog/help-after-installing-windows-8-1-my-usb-device-doesn-t-charge/ba-p/270798
PPS : I know some people use JoyToKey but you wont get an analog control with that unless you have the paid version maybe. TARGET is free. You NEED analog control to be precise with your excavator.
