Tips for someone new to leaderboard?

I decided to try out the leaderboard mode for the first time. Don't have a chance in hell of making top ten but i have winter break so im hoping for top 200. I got the large excavator and the mobile wash plant what do you suggest doing next?

Really depends how much cash you have on hand. You should be trying to get to river town and t3 asap. It's 300k to get to river town and around 200k to get t3 with duplex jigs and no conveyor, so you'd need front loader that you should be able to afford lease on. If your into summer I would just keep pushing with t2 and not buy anything unless you need to and wait for prices to drop. You'll get more nuggets when you start drilling river town as well.

The first thing you should do is getting all presents, as that is making many things much cheaper (especially fuel consumption and product prices) and earning gold easier. For the night bonuses keep in mind, that the night is from 18:00 to 6:00, so make sure to do your digging in the night and do other stuff over the day to maximize your income.

As for nuggets, for the new leaderboard season they're limited to ~300oz (so around 350k $) from drilling (older guides might be outdated due to this). That said, invest into washing machines first, before investing into parcels to make sure, that you don't lock out yourself from making money, especially when taking loans. It's also due to that that you don't need to dig all 16 spots per square and can rather concentrate on gathering info of the map as a whole, as digging all squares once on old arnolds should already get you most of the possible gold nuggets.
