Buy Vs. Leasing a plot?
I'm just curious what the purpose is of buying land over leasing it. I was assuming that once you bought land, the benefit would be no longer having to pay 'rent provisions' seeing as how, yanno, YOU own the land now, but after purchasing Old Arnold's and earning a bit of money, making sure I'd gone a full 24 hours since buying the plot, but when midnight rolled around, I still had to pay rent provisions.

Can someone please tell me what exactly the purpose is to buying land, other than having to pay for it a second, more expensive time for what appears to be no plus side. Still kinda new to this though, so I might just not be seeing the reason yet. Thanks!

Does it take a day or two to happen? The reason I ask this is because after buying the land on my game, I was still charged provisions of rent in gold. I figured it would be best to make the purchase close to midnight, but not after so it would be a new day. So basically, my order of events were:

>bought land
>midnight hit
>paid what I thought would be my final rent since I figured though I bought the land, I'd still have to pay the rent for the 23h 59min where the land was still Arnold's the previous day.
>processed some gold
>went to bed for 24 hrs to check the end of day screen now that I'd owned the parcel for over a full day cycle [from new day midnight to the following end of day.]
>saw that I was still charged rent of about 30% of the gold I processed while the land was in my full ownership.

So, unless it takes an extra day or two to kick in, then my game is bugged because I was still charged rent. :c

Yeah, I knew about that catch up as well, I kept everything above the books. You can even see my detailed process in my first reply.

Buying the land doesn't stop it right then you still get rent taxed on any gold not washed prior to buying the land. Always clean all mats, buckets, machines all of them because any dirt dug prior will cause rent tax on your next cleanout.
