+Save file location

Sometimes a dev or mod will ask you to provide them with your save game so they can check out any issues you may be having, these files can be found at the following.

* Press the Windows key and R to bring up the 'Run' box
* Enter the following with out the quotes '%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\CodeHorizon\GoldRushTheGame\Saves'

+Crash file location

If the game crashes then it will provide a log file, that log file can be found by following the steps below

* C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Temp\CodeHorizon\GoldRushTheGame\Crashes

+Output_Log location

Sometimes the devs will ask for you to provide the output_log file when ever you have a crash, it is best to include this with the crash file however, the location is as follows

* Press the Windows key and R to bring up the 'Run' box
* Enter the following with out the quotes '%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\CodeHorizon\GoldRushTheGame\'

+Game Settings File Locoation

If you have issues with the game settings or controller settings it is worth deleting this folder to try and fix any issues caused.

* Press the Windows key and R to bring up the 'Run' box
* Enter the following with out the quotes '%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\CodeHorizon\GoldRushTheGame\Saves'

+Registry Locoation

You would normally go to this location if you are having issues with your controller settings where for instance, you can't move left or right.

* Press the Windows key and R to bring up the 'Run' box
* Type in the following without the quotes 'regedit'
* Go to the following location -> \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Code Horizon\Gold Rush: The Game
* Delete the folder
* Verify game files via steam

I cant seem to play this game at all, I launch it start a game and within less than a minute it freezes and doesnt respond anymore

Crashes constantly.... really having no luck trying the usual tricks to get it to work... Don't know what they've done to it but im uninstalling unfortunately.. doesnt seem to save for me as well so i keep starting up, expecting the crash and my save file is gone from the previous session... such an annoyance.... when does gold rush 2 come out.

Problem solved, i7 runs like a dream. Everything epic running high frames.

I was getting the same thing crashing after like 2mins new game or save load. I think I may have it figured out on my machine. I have a pretty crappy cpu and vid card Ryzen 3 2200, and a Gtx 1650. I was watching the performance meter (ctrl. Alt, del) while playing and low and behold it spikes to 100% CPU usage and seems like that is causing the crash.

If I close everything down like chrome, youtube anything not needed it seems to run at around 90% usage and will run fine for long periods of time. If I try to pan any gold it crashes no matter what so dont do that. Also it seems travelling around the map will sometimes trigger a crash as well.

Also if you do crash it seems better to wait a few mins before loading it back up seems to help as well. I also have things running on high and auto saving so I'm doubting that is causing issues.

I'm going to keep watching the meter to see if I can figure it out but its at least playable.

I see comments here mentioning that i5 systems seem to have issues with this game. I am running win 10 and an i5 from 2014 (4th gen?) and I have got the game to stop crashing on my system. All I did was go to my steam library right click the game in the list and click manage>browse local files, then right click the game exe file and go to properties>compatibility tab, then check the run as admin box and set the compatibility mode to windows 7. After doing that, the game has run 14 hours without a crash. Before doing this, the game would crash every 5-10 mins. Hope this helps some of you.
