lol right, the show started with Todd and them beginning to mine gold, his dad only knew a bit, but in all honesty Todd is an idiot. He got help from Parker and his Grandfather, RIP, and then Todd and his ego decided to have a problem with Parker cuz Parker knows his stuff and he hates that a kid that been doin it his whole life makes him look stupid, which he does on his own btw. Ive always rooted for the hoffman crew to hopefully make a change but Todd is a horrible leader and a stubborn man that has a super hard time admiting when hes wrong, hes charismatic and thats why he is able to rally ppl but the ppl he is surrounded by is the only reason he had any success and his stubborness has led many ppl away, as you can see with his old mechanic Mitch who found a steady job with a better leader like parker and his old friend Chris Doumitt. Freddy Dodge is the real brains behind all the wash plants. Basically everyone on his crew has made better decisions than him. I dont blame the guy for bein a dreamer and trying to find land closer to home but you have to see that his decisions have led to nothing but failure, if he didnt get any money from discovery he wouldnt have made it past south america, hate me if you want but the facts dont lie, he would have had a great ally in Parker but chose to make an enemy for literally zero reason and has lost every bet with him lol why bet you could hit 5k oz when you havent ever been close to that and parker has consistently grown?

Most of the "drama" in many discovery channel programs is scripted (many shows have actors instead of "real people" (yes, actors are real people...)).
Discovery is like Amercian Wrestling or like Santa Claus...
Now there is a bombshell.

I'm watching the series on DMAX here in Spain, so I'm not sure how much I am behind, but first I really liked the Hoffmann Crew and the old guy there...
Then there was a szene when you could actually hear what they are praying for when they raise their helmets and it was disgusting, pure greed.

I was expecting something like "let us all be healthy and have no accidents with this heavy machinery" but it was just "give us more gold more gold more gold".
Not sad if they leave, I hate greedy people that risk lives of others more than once and still fail.

In last nights show Todd gives a quick snipet of whats happening,
labelled " IN THE WEEKS AHEAD " .

He is featured with ZUM MEDIA as you can see from his tracktop in an interview during the show, for those that can access the history chanell he makes several interviews about leaving, these were aired last week, he is also doing another project where he gets young people into the mining game and helps them, after 8 years of mining he says he has reached his goal and it's time for his whole family to move on..

I enjoy Todd on the show. He brings a sobering element that often informs the viewer on what not to do. I'm glad he and his crew have periodically found some success (I think I missed the seasons when they made a lot of goild... in the process of re-watching them all) but I can't imagine anyone paying him to teach them how to mine.

Tony, Parker, Dave Turin, Rick Ness, Freddy Dodge... o.k, but Todd not so much.

Funny. I'm re-watching the series now. I read your post yesterday and then just last night this episode in season 3 happens with the 'Thanks for the gold, give us more gold god' prayer happens.

Was pretty cringe worthy.
