Small diesel water pump wont start

Hey,

Im on Tier 1 and bought a new shiny water pump, hoses, filter and extension sluice. Problem is that my water pump refuse to start. It starts up, makes sound. But then stops. The icons say that it has fuel and water.

When connected to the hog it indicated no water.

I have followed every singel guide on how to set it up but it just wont work.

Any ideas?

Hey,

What is your pump connected to and do you know if you're playing with the pressure system on (on easy/normal is off by default and on hard it's on)? Is it a diesel or electric water pump?

Usually when you get the sound you're getting, it's because you've over subscribed the resource, so check if the icon turns red when you turn it on and shows that you're using too much of the resource (in this case I'm guessing water?).

Hey Storm, i made an whole new game and the problem did go away. It must have been an bug of some sort. I never figured out. The same setup worked fine in the other save game i had.

Does it have fuel, is the "IN" connected with a red hose that gets water from river, How long are the "in" hose and the one going to the hog. Hard to say what is wrong without picture, maybe its Day 1 and the water is still frozen or it is plugged with the "OUT" port to the water sorce.

The fat hose is in the water + Water filter and it's plugged into the "IN" slot.

The thin hose is plugged from the small out slot into the hog.

The generator has fuel.

But if I hit the power switch, nothing happens at all.

Well... wow. Solved. It's the wrong switch. Next to it, lefthand, there is another small switch (the string to pull) to start the generator. Well that's realistic, yes, but kinda very easy to overlook in the first place.

I haven't played in months, but from what I remember, the water pump had an electric panel the same as the electric one which was just for show, you used the pull cord.

The small diesel pump is the same since release, pull cord for starting and the "stop" button for turning off.
The electric pump came later into the game.
