They stop after a while. The longer you play the less they occur.

They occur in the beginning to make a head start. After a while (when you have tier II equipment) they are not needed anymore. Otherwise you have tier III equipment at day 3 and that isn't really the meaning i think :-)

Yes, in my experience the nuggets stop dropping as soon as a T2 item is introduced in the T1 area. For instance, when I started my second save earlier today I got nuggets until I bought the wavetable, no other equipment upgraded. Sucked a wee bit as I had to do (much) more digging than normal to afford the other T2 stuff.

Edit; After I had full T2 and started mining the big area the nuggets made a glorious comeback.

Yes, in my experience the nuggets stop dropping as soon as a T2 item is introduced in the T1 area. For instance, when I started my second save earlier today I got nuggets until I bought the wavetable, no other equipment upgraded. I'm still getting them in T3, they always pop when I turn on my shaker/trommel/jig. I did rush to it and worked T1 and T2 day and night and then got loans to get my single duplex jig T3 setup going. I'm on day 13 now.

I think it's based on time passed in the game (possibly 14 days) and not the tier you're using, so I suspect they'll probably stop for me at day 15.

Just out of curiosity, what day did you get to T2 and what difficulty are you playing?

I would assume that difficulty also probably affects how long you get nuggets. Mine is just on normal. Without a dev telling us some hard numbers, all we can do is guess, but I've not really noticed changing tiers causing them to stop before. It just seemed to be after so many days (or total G/Oz of free nuggets maybe).

Some basics about nuggets:

- There are 60 of them to find
- Each of them need more digged dirt than previous one
- Can't tell you exactly how much dirt they need as it is randomized (just as value of nugget)
- After first 25 (dedicated for T1) there is a big gap in amount of dirt needed, so you can feel like they're not there anymore. Once you jump into T2 they will come back and stay with you to the end of the game
- To find them all you have to be really dedicated player :)

wanna say something i did get a small excavator on day 2 (yes i know that sounds crazy but its true) when i got it the nuggets just stopped appearing so im going to try to farm the nuggets for 10 ingame days straight then when it turns summer im going to get tier 2

There is around 30oz of nuggets in the T1 area, no more nuggets in T1 after that. When you use the mobile washplant you again get some nuggets with the mobile washplant, but after a while they also stop and then with your T3 running you get a few nuggets again but T3 makes enough gold already so the nuggets no longer play that much of a role.
Lately the game was changed so you can find nuggets with the drill as well.
My target is to empty out all claims, so the nuggets are only a little extra.

The nuggets you get are scripted and you get them less often until you don't get them anymore from that area (small and big, claims not separate). On the big area you get them again.

well i rented that drill for a day to get the claim checked and well if you want easy nuggets do that , nuggets enabled i got 12kg of gold just drilling for a day
