The show is a very entertaining cast of characters, I find. You get the whole range of personalities: smart, dumbass, scoundrel, sympathetic, ruthless, etc... and most are a blend of those qualitites in varying proportions. A lot of the dialog now is 'for the camera' but that's to be expected... being on the show, with the perks that brings, probably keeps some of these folks at it longer than most would put up with. Whether it's the financial support to struggling crews, or just the limelight, I just can't see some of these guys sticking with it beyond 1-2 failed seasons otherwise (eg: early era Hoffman crew).
I do miss the Hoffmans though, they were just funny and kinda' lovable in their ineptness. There are times I was certain Todd had to be getting some money on the side to throw a boneheaded monkeywrench into things for entertainments' sake. Hard to explain otherwise, lol.
I came to the show due to the game and I've recorded almost all episodes (except the specials which are only 7 aired), around 500 GB on NAS (but not watched them all, that's why recording has been invented).
A sneak peek about Season 10: ;-)
We have to say "Good Bye" to the Parker we know. The actor, who played the role of Parker, is now under contract of HBO and will take roles in the next Season of "The Walking Dead". So the actor changes from Parker to Walker (different of them, not only one), he was already on diet for his new role after filming of Season 9 ended.
The new Parker has been found in a casting, it will be the singer Lukas "Graham" Forchhammer, he has similar hair, growth of beard (and "body hair", you can see both Parkers barechested in "Parkers Trail - Jungle Season" and the music video "7 years") and has already experience as a film actor. Also from the body shape the new Parker matches more his co-workers.
Here's the new Parker: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Lukas_Graham_Forchhammer_Stavernfestivalen_(180229).jpg

(Parker with new look doesn't matter in my opinion, James Bond looks different over time, too...)
Of course it's a joke, in a reality show the roles are played by the real persons themselfes and not with actors.
i watch programs sometimes about people wondering how people built the pyramids....and we think we are the pinacle with sending people into space etc lol dumbasses cant even work out basic engineering
we know more about space than we do about whats under our own seas. that baffles me.
rick will do ok i think he watched and learned with parker.
tod and co threw money at every problem i think and that was their downfall but i do hope to see them back in the future
parker what an amazing young man wild like his grandfather prolly was in his youth. time will melow him.
whats overlooked though is the teams behind the people,, anyone know if they are on a % cut or just a basic wage?
wtf i just read the post above, screw you discovery and sky tv. canceling first thing the morning. im not paying that much for zee germans to get shows aired before us, we won the war ffs :P that was for the spoiler ;)
seriously tho wtf.
p.s i have greman freinds so please don't take it the wrong way.
:)
p.p.s metallos if you want real insider info on walking dead look at other dev companies that employ old crewmembers. one of the community people for tripwire used to work on set as a stand in.
he says parker isnt in next season and you ay off james bond too, or we'll have a woman in next. dr who anyone?
The sneak peak on season 10 had me dying laughing.
Vega, I believe the crews behind each team all get a basic wage and a percentage of the gold profit too. I also think the mechanics take a larger cut than the rest of the crew as they are valued so much.
*) It's not Australian Gold / Aussie Gold Hunters
And synchronizing costs time, the german version of GR has much more words because half of them are censored out in the US original (the original audio is heard in the background). ;-)
(And before I came to GR I thought "American Chopper" is the show with the most [peep])
that would make sense imagine them conditions and getting things done without risking or hurting people. as a mechanic.
i have to admit tony risks a lot. just to get the job done. people too close to things breaking etc. prolly tv drama.
That was a good one :)))
First I was shoked. After Todd left the show and joint up with the Muppets, Parker leaves for Walking Dead? What comes next? Tony Beets as a primary school teacher?
No idea why people thing these guys are actors.
