cable hook up

im trying to hook the excavator to the power generator. cables i bought are to long. even though thats what they told me to buy. still doing the introduction to the game. help what am i missing here.

Not sure.... I always used 4m cable to hook up big power generator and big fuel container.

I find it easier to simply push the large generator or large fuel tank into place with the dozer.

I've found the 5m cables are all you need for the wholeT3 setup, even using the small excavator. Remember you can gain the extra bit of height needed for some pieces by opening the bucket. (Not sure how realistic that is, but hey, it works...)

i watched a youtube video and that is what the guy did. he opened the bucket. i don't think that is realistic at all myself. however the game is time staking enough. thanks everyone

i just dragged it to where i wanted it, beets style, make it work right? made it harder to possition but faster than driving to town and back to buy new cables.

If the cable attachments are on the base of what you want to pick up, then use the long cables.
If the attachments are on the top of the machine you can use the medium length ones and sometimes the short ones. Although using the short ones are fiddly, and break alot.
